對于地處偏遠的農村學校來說,英語學習是學生“永遠的痛”。由于經濟環境的滯后性,從小缺乏英語語言學習的環境,就更談不上良好的英語閱讀習慣了。因此,在高中這三年,如何高效地利用好21世紀報,凸顯英語閱讀的重大意義,并以此成為提高英語高考分數的一條有效途徑呢?良好的閱讀習慣的培養是否可以從報刊閱讀開始呢?
主要實施步驟:
一、準備階段
以高學生為對象,調查學生關于21世紀報閱讀現狀及其困惑,依據學生的不同層次,將學生分為8個小組(8個等級),并將每期的21st century(21世紀報)分為8個專題,并以此為基礎,進行為期半年的課前課堂和課后訓練研究。
二、實施階段
(1)分類閱讀訓練階段。在第一輪的小組合作學習中,全班8個學習小組每個小組都有固定的編號A---H;同時,把21CENTURY 報劃分為8個大的版塊---廣告圖表類;人物故事類;新聞事件;地理天氣;旅游類;科普知識;校園生活;文化習俗每個小組在一個月內都選定一個固定的話題,如A組對應廣告圖表類;B組對應人物故事類;C組對應新聞事件;D組對應地理天氣類;E組對應旅游類;F組對應科普知識類;G組對應校園生活類;H組對應文化習俗類。
每個星期的課前給每組同學分配好任務,如A組對應廣告圖表類,A組的同學就借用skimming或 scanning 的方式找出關鍵詞,及關鍵的句子,訓練快速閱讀的力,這跟高考的信息匹配題也是一脈相承的!

A homeless man in New York City has become famous in the city for his hair, which includes a dreadlock(長辮) that goes down to his feet.
It has been said that the homeless man, who calls himself Delfine Vizearra,has not cut his hair since somewhere between 2002 and 2005, according to the Daily Mail. “I couldve sworn(發誓) he had pieces added onto it,”neighbour Glen De filippi,66,told the New York Post. “If he sells it, he could make a million dollars.”

如C組對應新聞事件類要求這組的同學每次用一句話總結新聞內容。
如D組對應地理天氣類要求這組的同學們每次找出關于地理天氣特征的單詞,然后由這組的同學扮演好weather forecaster 的角色。
如E組對應旅游類要求這組的同學們找出4到5句描述旅游景點或旅游心得的句子并翻譯成中文。
如F組對應科普知識類要求這組的同學們充當科普解說員,上網搜索這類科普知識的通俗解釋用更簡單通俗的語言來解釋每次出現的科普知識。
如G組對應校園生活類要求這組學生模仿材料寫一篇自己學校的校園生活的濃縮版本!
如H組對應文化習俗類要求這組的學生找出和自己國家文化習俗的similarity和difference。
(2)八個小組互換閱讀任務階段。8個學習小組兩兩配對,按照八個專題任務的難易程度,依托8個學習小組的學習能力進行合理的互換任務。在互換任務的過程中,每個小組都要考慮自己小組的等級進行理性的互換,每次互換的間隔時間是一個月!
(3)閱讀八大題材的文章并寫出讀后感,以此來提升閱讀能力。通過每期報紙八大專題素材的積累,8個學習小組交流心得體會,以文字的形式寫出八大素材的讀后感,讓學生的閱讀有一個質的變化。endprint
