靜岡縣首間縣立自然科學博物館屹立的位置，正是靜岡南高中的舊校址。博物館間格充分利用空置校園及現有的學校家具，舊學生枱底對頂、頂對底被迭成一個個展覧柜。展覧模擬真實課室的情況，黑板上寫著各個展品的解說。整個自然科學博物館由空置學校改建而成，正正完美示范可持續發展的意義。

At the site of the former Shizuoka Minami High Schoolstands the prefecture’s first-ever prefecture-owned natural science museum. The spatial configuration makes use of a vacant school and the school’s existing furniture, old school study desks are stacked top-tobottom, bottom-to-top to form unique exhibit cases.The exhibits are produced to be reminiscent of classes held in classrooms. Explanatory graphic shown on the blackboard show the connections and relationships of the rows of skeletal specimens. The restoration of the abandoned school per se is the epitome of sustainable society for a museum themed on environmental history.
