2017年12月大學英語四級考試的三道作文試題屬于解決問題型作文，這種類型作文題目一般是how to...，即要求考生闡述如何解決某個問題。此類型作文議論的成分不多，更接近于說明文。比如，本題請考生闡述如何處理（handle）家長與孩子之間的關系。既然是handle，那就是說如今家長和孩子之間的關系存在一些問題，需要提出一些應對之策。所以，本文的重點是列舉出一些改善親子關系的方法。

As is known to all， a positive parent-child relationship is conducive to the physical and mental growth of children. However， maintaining a healthy parent-child bond needs the effort of both parties.

Parents should take the initiative to improve their relationship with the children. Of paramount importance is spending quality time with their children， however tight their schedule is. For instance， they can eat meals together， go to sporting events together or watch their children’s favorite TV show together. This can go a long way to making their children feel safe and loved. Children， on the other hand， should let their parents know they are appreciative of what their parents have done for them. For example， they can give their parents a gift on some special day or help with housework on a regular basis.

No healthy parent-child relationship is without conflict. But as long as parents and children make a concerted effort， they can resolve the conflict and enjoy their time together. （162 words）
