At 11:13 Beijing time on July 25,a LM-4B launch vehicle lifted off from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center, successfully launching the ZY-3 03 satellite and 2 other small satellites into their preset orbits.
The ZY-3 03 satellite was developed by the China Academy of Space Technology. The Ministry of Natural Resources is the primary user of the satellite which will be mainly used to provide 1:50,000 basic geographic information products, revise and update 1:25,000 and larger scale maps, and conduct land and resources investigation and monitoring.
The ZY-3 03 will join ZY-3 01,ZY-3 02 and GF-7 satellites to form a network, providing stable satellite data sources for China's surveying and mapping industries.
The 2 other satellites piggybacked onboard the carrier rocket were the Lobster-eye X-ray detection satellite and the Tianqi 10 satellite. They were developed by Shanghai ASES Spaceflight Technology Co.Ltd.
The Lobster-eye satellite is the first space science detection satellite that simulates the lobster vision in the world.
Tianqi 10 is a data acquisition satellite. It will carry out on-orbit verification of key technologies for the space-based Internet of Things, providing advanced technical verification for the construction and application of the narrow-band space-based Internet of Things constellation.
The LM-4B is a three-stage liquid propellant carrier rocket developed by the Shanghai Academy of Spaceflight Technology with the capability to launch single and multiple satellites of different kinds and orbits.
This was the 341st mission of the LM series launch vehicle.(MIAO Shanshan/China Space News)
