“賽媽”的重慶幸福生活

2020 年春節，賽勒瑪原本和家人計劃去昆明滇池喂喂海鷗，曬曬太陽。

由于新冠肺炎的影響，出發前一天，她和家人商量退掉了高鐵票，宅在家中過春節。

賽勒瑪全名賽勒瑪·易卜拉欣，今年 70 歲了，來自敘利亞，是四川外國語大學東方語學院阿拉伯語教授。她有一頭黑色的卷發，跟人講話時，總是笑咪咪的。

這個春節，賽勒瑪的微信上收到了很多學生的問候，“賽媽，現在怎么樣，還好嗎？”“賽媽，少出門，戴口罩！” ……賽勒瑪非常感動， 還有很多學生專門打電話來問候。

“在重慶，有我愛的事業，有我親愛的孩子們和家人，我的生活非常幸福?！辟惱宅斝χf。

Salema and her family had planned to go to the Dian Lake in Kunming to feed seagulls and enjoy the sunshine to spend the Spring Festival in 2020.

Yet influenced by the novel coronavirus pneumonia's （NPC）， she refund the high-speed rail ticket the day before her departure after discussing with her family， and stayed at home during the Spring Festival.

Salema's full name is Salema Ibrahim. A 70-year-old Syrian， she is currently serving as a professor of Arabic at the College of Oriental Languages of Sichuan International Studies University. She hasblack curly hair and always beams at others when talking.

This Spring Festival， Salema received greetings from many students on WeChat， "Mommy Sai， how's everything going， are you ok？" "Mommy Sai， don't go out and wear masks！" … Some students even called to check in. Salema was incredibly touched.

"I have my beloved career， my dear children and family here in Chongqing. My life is very happy，" Salema said with a smile.

“賽媽”與她的幾百名“孩子” “Mommy Sai” and Her Hundreds of Children

賽勒瑪原來是敘利亞的老師，2006 年，四川外國語大學開設阿拉伯語專業，賽勒瑪成功應聘，從 2008 年起任該校阿拉伯語語言文學專業教師。

到重慶任教，她稱之為圓夢?！靶r候， 地理老師就在地圖上給我們講中國的地理位置， 歷史老師也給我們講三國的故事，從小我就對中國很向往。”讓她高興的是，家人都很支持她的決定。

“剛來川外時，我還是孤身一人;現在， 我已經有幾百個孩子了，他們就是我的家人?！?賽勒瑪說。

賽勒瑪口中的孩子，就是她在川外教授阿拉伯語的幾百名學生。

賽勒瑪的微信通訊錄里，大部分都是她的學生，“他們分布在世界各地，雖然有的已經畢業十幾年了，還和我保持著密切的聯系?！?賽勒瑪笑著說。

說起孩子們，賽勒瑪滔滔不絕：有的孩子在埃及、阿聯酋工作，有時會詢問她當地的文化、法律等方面的問題。

賽勒瑪還時不時邀請同事、學生去家里做客，親手給他們做美食。因此，學生們都親切地稱她為“賽媽”。

賽勒瑪有一個習慣，周二和周三下午，她會在辦公室等著學生們來，為他們解決一些學習和生活上的困惑。

每逢母親節、教師節，很多學生都會給賽媽發短信，“賽媽，節日快樂！”“媽媽，節日快樂！”

“我認為教師與學生之間的有效溝通不僅是上課的 45 分鐘，而是 24 小時的教育，這是一個持續的過程。”賽勒瑪說。

2017 年，賽勒瑪被國家外國專家局評為“外

教中國”年度人物，她從全國近 3 萬名外教中脫穎而出，獲評中國十大外教之一。

Salema was originally a teacher in Syria. When Sichuan International Studies University set up the Arabic major in 2006， Salema succeeded in becoming a teacher of Arabic language and Literature two years later.

She called it a dream-fulfilling journey to go to Chongqing for teaching. "When I was a child， the geography teacher told us the location of China on the map， and the history teacher also told us the story of the Three Kingdoms. Therefore， I've always admired China since then." And her family was incredibly supportive of her decision， which made her happy.

"When I first came to Sichuan， I wasalone. Now， I already have hundreds of children， and they are my family here." Salema said.

The children Salema menttioned are hundreds of students she teaches at the Sichuan International Studies University.

Most of Salema's WeChat contact list are her students. "They come from anywhere in the world. Although some have graduated for more than 10 years， they still maintain close ties with me，" said Salema， smiling.

Speaking of children， Salema talks a lot： some work in Egypt and the United Arab Emirates and ask her about local culture， laws and other aspects sometimes.

Salema also invites her colleagues and students to her home from time to time and cook them delicious food. Therefore， the students affectionately call her "Mommy Sai". Salema has made it a routine work waiting for students in her office on each Tuesday and Wednesday， to solve their

problems in study and life.

On Mother's Day and Teacher's Day， many students send text messages to Salema， "Mommy Sai， happy holidays！" "Mom， happy holidays！"

"I believe that a 45-minute class is a long way off for students to communicate effectively with teachers for education is a continuous course which needs 24-hour engagement，" said Salema.

In 2017， Salema was presented the honor of the "Foreign Teacher of the Year in China" by the State Bureau of Foreign Experts Affairs （SAFEA P.R.C.）. She stood out from nearly 30，000 foreign teachers and was named one of the top ten foreign teachers in China.

教學中的賽勒瑪嚴謹認真。四川外國語大學學生白澤鵬說，“賽媽”非常注重互動，時常會讓學生上講臺充當“老師”，鼓勵學生們多用阿文展示自己。

賽勒瑪說，教學要跟上時代，要不斷學習， 比如網絡上的新詞匯她都會去學習，便于更好地了解學生們的思維。

剛來川外的時候，她發現，學生的教材需要更新以適應最新的阿拉伯文化。2017 年底， 在摸透中國學生學習阿拉伯語的情況、習慣的前提下，賽勒瑪和川外的吳昊老師耗時兩年所著的《高級阿拉伯語精讀》和《簡明阿拉伯語語法》出版。

目前，這兩本教材均已在四川外國語大學阿拉伯語專業使用。今年他們還將出版三本阿拉伯語教材，涉及歷史文化、貿易等，“目前， 這三本書已經處于校對階段?！辟惱宅斦f。

賽勒瑪還積極助推重慶與阿拉伯語國家的文化、學術交流。早在 2015 年，在賽勒瑪的倡導下，四川外國語大學與阿爾及利亞排名第二的特萊姆森大學簽署協議，推動兩校之間互派交換生。繼 2017 年 10 月第一批川外學生去特萊姆森大學交換后，2019 年，又有 36 名學生成為交換生。

2019 年，在賽勒瑪的推動下，川外的阿拉伯語老師和學生還能申請免費就讀特萊姆森大學的碩士或博士，目前，已經有三位川外的老師申請，如順利，今年 9 月就能入學。

賽勒瑪說：“我希望通過這樣的交流，讓越來越多的中國學生能夠了解阿拉伯語，了解阿拉伯文化。也讓更多阿拉伯學生有機會到重慶，近距離感受山城的獨特魅力?！?/p>

Salema is very rigorous in giving lectures. Bai Zepeng， a student at Sichuan International Studies University， said that "Mommy Sai" attaches great importance to classroom interaction and often has students act as a "teacher" in class and present themselves in Arabic.

Salema holds that teacher should keep pace with the times by continuous learning. For example， she would learn new words connected to the internet so as to better understand her students.

When she first came to the university， she found that students’ textbooks need to be added the latest Arabic culture. At the end of 2017， Salema and Wu Hao， another professor at the university， published Advanced Arabic Intensive Reading and Concise Arabic Grammar， which took two years to compile， on the basis of gaining an in-depth understanding of the habits of Chinese students in learning Arabic.

Both of the two textbooks are used by the Arabic majors of Sichuan International Studies University at present. They are planning to publish three Arabic textbooks this year， covering history， culture， trade， etc. "These three books are undergoing proofreading at the moment，" said Salema.

Salema has also played an active role in promoting cultural and academic exchanges between Chongqing and Arabic- speaking countries. As early as 2015， at the initiative of Salema， Sichuan InternationalStudies University signed an agreement with University of Tlemcen， second-ranked university in Algeria to promote exchange programs between the two universities. The first batch of exchange students from Sichuan International Studies University went to the University of Tlemcen in October 2017， and the figure in 2019 was 36.

In 2019， Arabic teachers and students at Sichuan International Studies University were offered an opportunity to apply for a master's or doctor's degree in the University of Tlemcen free of charge， thanks to Salema. At present， three teachers have applied， they will be able to enter the university in September this year if everything goes well.

"I hope that more and more Chinese students will get some knowledge of Arabic and Arabic culture through such exchanges，" said Salema. "Which， also give more Arab students the opportunity to visit Chongqing and experience the unique charm of the mountain city at close range."

四個博士孩子眼中的嚴格“媽媽” “Tiger Mother” in the Eyes of Four Doctors

“別看平時生活中大家都叫她‘賽媽’，她出的試題都非常難?！辟惱宅數娜齼鹤娱_著玩笑，“吐槽”賽勒瑪是個“嚴格”的老師和媽媽，“小時候，對兄弟姐妹四人的要求都非常高，也特別嚴格，小時候不能打游戲，讀大學的時候不能談戀愛，只能學習。”

面對兒子的“吐槽”，賽勒瑪笑著說，“一個人最大的成功不是金錢，而在于你的價值能夠影響多少人，希望孩子們都能有文化、有愛心， 成為一個受人尊重的人。”

在賽勒瑪影響下，大兒子曾在聯合國工作， 也曾就職于意大利國際生物多樣性中心，后來又在重慶大學從事博士后研究;二女兒擁有雙博士學位;三兒子和小兒子分別從西南大學、重慶大學博士畢業。

因為工作和照顧孩子，一直沒能繼續學習是她的遺憾。孩子們大了，賽媽也有了自己的時間，為了把書教得更好，她一直在堅持學習， 不斷提高自己，雖年過七旬，還在攻讀博士學位， 而且很快就要論文答辯了。

喜歡旅行的一家人，每逢節假日就會相約自駕游。2008 年剛來重慶時的一件小事，讓他們記憶猶新：有一次一家人自駕去野生動物園玩，路上車輛出了故障，不斷有重慶人伸出援手，甚至還有一名熱心重慶人幫他們推車幾公里去 4S 店?！拔覀冇X得在中國幾千年文化滋養下，中國人民有一種包容和慷慨精神。在中國， 在重慶，我們仿佛是回到了家?！?/p>

賽媽很愛中國，她在川外生活得很愜意。如果不看她的外表，她和一個中國的老太太并沒有太多區別。她沒課的時候會在操場邊散步， 然后去學校的菜攤挑選蔬菜、水果。

賽勒瑪笑稱，現在路上如果有人喊一聲“看！ ‘老外’”，自己甚至會東張西望看哪里有“老外”，絲毫沒有意識到自己就是那個“老外”。雖然一家人都在主城各個區上班，但是每天晚上，大家會一起到川外賽勒瑪的家中吃晚飯，然后一起聊聊天，說一些生活和工作中的事情。賽勒瑪很滿足現在在重慶的生活，未來， 一家人也準備在重慶定居。

Despite being called "Mommy Sai"， she's always "ruthless" to her children during exams. Salema's third son "complained" that Salema is a "strict" teacher and mother. "She has very high and strict requirements for me and my brothers and sisters. We were not allowed to play games as little children， nor were we allowed to be in a relationship when we became college students. The only thing we can do is studying."

On hearing this， Salema said with a smile， "Money never makes a successful man， yet your value as an individual does. I hope every child can grow to an adult who is well-educated， caring about and respected by others."

Under the influence of Salema， her eldest son used to work for the United Nations and the Italian International Center for Biodiversity， and later completed his postdoctoral studies at Chongqing University. The second daughter has earned a double doctor's degree. The third son and the youngest son got their PhD from Southwest University and Chongqing University， respectively.

She often regrets for her failure to continue studying because of work and her children. As the children get older， she finally

has her own time. In order to improve her capability of teaching， Salema keeps learning daily. Though at her 70s， she is currently pursuing a doctor's degree and is going to defend her thesis in a few days.

All her family members are keen of traveling and they often start self- driving tours during the holidays. What they encountered when they first came to Chongqing in 2008 was still fresh in their memory： when the family drove to a wildlife park， their car broke down on the road. Many people passing by gave a hand. Some even helped push their car several kilometers to the 4S store. "We're appreciative of the tolerant and generous Chinese people nourished by thousands of year of Chinese culture. In Chongqing in China， we just feel at home."

Salema loves China very much. She lives a happy life in the university. Except her appearance， she looks just the same as any old Chinese lady. She often takes a walk on the playground， and then go to the school's vegetable stall to choose vegetables and fruits when gets some free periods.

Salema joked that if someone shouts "Look！ A foreigner"， she even looks around to see where is the foreigner， without realizing that she herself is the foreigner.

Although the family members work in various districts of the main city， every night， they will go to Salema's home at Sichuan International Studies University for dinner together， and then talk about their life and work. Salema is satisfied with her life here in Chongqing. And her family is also planning to settle in Chongqing in the future.
