開封市博物館及規(guī)劃展覽館建筑面積75,400m2，是開封中意新區(qū)的標(biāo)志性建筑，遵循“承宋之繁華神韻，創(chuàng)新之盛世篇章”的設(shè)計(jì)目標(biāo)；發(fā)掘開封 “城摞城” “三重城”“四水貫都”的歷史資源，并結(jié)合宋代建筑中央殿閣高聳、四周院落環(huán)繞的組群布置特點(diǎn)進(jìn)行設(shè)計(jì)，外立面通過傾斜、錯(cuò)縫、前后凹凸的處理，隱喻開封“城摞城”奇觀，與開封古城墻形成對(duì)話。

建筑沿東西向中軸對(duì)稱，從前廣場(chǎng)到環(huán)形庭院，進(jìn)入中庭和中央塔樓，內(nèi)部展廳圍繞中央呈回字形組織。觀眾從一、二層的博物館游覽到三層規(guī)劃館，從下至上，可先了解開封城的厚重積淀，后展望未來，形成完整的心理體驗(yàn)，將兩館合一的不利轉(zhuǎn)化為優(yōu)勢(shì)。

博物館采用外廣場(chǎng)、大水面、內(nèi)庭院的空間形態(tài)，烘托主體建筑，打造出“外在古典，內(nèi)在時(shí)尚”的新宋式風(fēng)格。

With an area of 75,400m2, Kaifeng Museum and Planning Exhibition Hall is an iconic building in the Zhongyi New District. The design concept comes from ancient Kaifeng's traditional painting and architecture. The lower surrounding buildings and the central towering palaces are integrated with the water system, which reflects the urban characteristics of the Song Dynasty. The fa?ade is a metaphor for the ancient city wall in terms of proportion, colour and texture.

The central east-west axis extends from the welcome square to the semi-open circular courtyard, into the entrance atrium and central tower, which is surrounded by the exhibition halls. From the lower floors of the museum to the higher floors of the planning hall, the audience could witness the epitome of the past and the future.

The broader public spaces, continuous water feature and the inner courtyard constitute the spatial morphology of the museum, creating a new Song Style of "classic with modern design manner" for Kaifeng Museum and Planning Exhibition Hall.
