Matts hobby is collecting stamps. He has stamps from many countries， like America， Egypt， and China. What do people gave him on his birthday？ Stamps！

Matts favorite stamp collection comes from France. He has almost every stamp from 1974 to 2000. He only needs one. That is a 1974 special edition. It is very hard to find.

He looks for it everywhere： in stores， at flea markets①， and on the Internet. He also asks his friends to help him. But nobody could find the stamp. It makes him very sad.

“Dont worry，” his father says to him. “You will find it one day.”

“I hope so，” Matt says. “Be patient，” his father says. “Dont give up.”

Besides collecting stamps， Matt likes writing. He has a pen friend in France. They write to each other every month.

Matts pen friend， Phillipe， usually uses new stamps to send letters. Sometimes， his mother gives him some old stamps. One time， Phillipes mother gives him a big， green stamp. It looks very old.

When Matt receives the letter， he is very surprised. On the envelope， he looks closely at the stamp. It is the 1974 special edition stamp. Matt is so happy！ He tells his sister， his mother and his father.

“You see，” his father says. “You finds your stamp. So， you see， its good to have two things in life.”

“What are they？” Matt asks.

“Friends and patience，” he answers.
