The effect of out-of-hospital nursing intervention based on cognitive behavioral therapy on prostate cancer patients treated with androgen deprivation alone

[Abstract]Objective To study the effect of out-of-hospital nursing intervention based on cognitive behavioral therapy （CBT） on the risk of falls in elderly prostate cancer patients treated with androgen deprivation therapy，and to provide clinical evidence for improving the quality of care for such patients. Methods A total of 120 patients diagnosed with prostate cancer and treated with simple androgen deprivation treatment in our hospital from October 2018 to October 2019 were randomly divided into an observation group and a control group，with 60 cases in each group.The control group was given routine care.The observation group was treated with CBT-based out-of-hospital care intervention based on routine care.After 12 weeks of discharge，the Herth Hope Scale was used to understand the hope levels of the two groups.The Berg balance scale was used to observe the balance of the two groups of patients to judge their risk of falling.The quality of life evaluation scale SF-36 was used to understand the quality of life of the two groups.A self-made satisfaction questionnaire was used to compare the two groups of patients′ satisfaction with the quality of care.Results The hope level，balance function，quality of life score，and satisfaction with nursing work of the observation group were higher than those of the control group，and all the differences were statistically significant （P<0.05）. Conclusion CBT-based out-of-hospital nursing intervention for elderly prostate cancer patients treated with androgen deprivation treatment after discharge from the hospital can reduce the patients′ negative emotions，improve the level of hope and quality of life，effectively reduce the risk of falls，and improve the patients′ satisfaction with the quality of care.It is worthy of promotion and application in clinical work.
