To love and to be loved is the greatest happiness of existence.When I was a child,my parents always told me a motto,which is “Love is action.” The motto influences me during my whole life.Now as parents,I want to pass it down to my children.Our children had watched both my wife and me do and say “Love is action.” for years,we hoped that they could gradually understand it.

One Sunday morning,we took our 10-year-old daughter,Susan and 6-year-old son,Robbie to the shopping center.As we got there,we saw a big sign that said,“Petting Zoo at the corner”.The kids jumped up happily and asked,“Daddy,Mom,can we go there?”Both my wife and I were just out of work.However,we thought it didn't take so much money.In order to meet their desire,we said,“Of course.” Then I gave them a quarter(25美分)each,leaving only fifty cents in my pocket.They went away hand in hand excitedly.Immediately,we told them that we would go to meet them at the gate of the petting zoo after shopping.

Actually,petting zoos are one of the most popular places for children.A petting zoo is made up of hundreds of little baby animals of all kinds.Kids pay their money and stay in the enclosure pleased with the little animals while their parents are shopping.

Unexpectedly,a few minutes later,as we were shopping,we saw Susan walking along behind us.We were so surprised and asked her what had happened.She responded with a little disappointment,“Well,a ticket to Petting Zoo costs fifty cents.So I decide to give Robbie my quarter,or both of us won't be allowed to go there.”And she murmured the family motto “Love is action.”
