2022“看中國·外國青年影像計劃·重慶行”行走城市鄉野 記錄巴渝脈動

With their lens, they tell stories of those who devote themselves to the rural revitalization, depict an old man in his nineties carving steles to make a “forest of steles”, capture “Chinese Loong Culture” of Anju Ancient Town in Tongliang District, Chongqing, cheer the rebirth of Xiabu (cloth for summer) thanks to the young-generation inheritors of this intangible cultural heritage, uncover the benefits of ecosystem conservation by forest keepers in Yintiaoling Conserves, and trace the journey of Chinese lacquer objects going trendy in the world. In this June, 2022 “Looking China - Youth Film Project in Chongqing”was successfully concluded in Chongqing, sponsored by Huilin Foundation of Beijing Normal University, hosted by Academy of International Communication of Chinese Culture, and organized by Southwest University.

他們，用影像記錄為鄉村振興奉獻力量的“小村大愛”；講述九旬老人從碑刻到碑林的“碑林夢”；展現銅梁安居古城的“龍文化”；講述年輕非遺傳承人如何實現“夏布新生”；探訪陰條嶺保護區的護林員保護生態環境為人類帶來“福蔭”；追憶中國漆器與世界的“不漆而遇”……今年6月，由北京師范大學會林文化基金贊助、中國文化國際傳播研究院主辦，西南大學承辦的2022“看中國·外國青年影像計劃·重慶行”在重慶圓滿收官。

The theme of this year’s “Looking China”is “People, Life, Scenery”. It provided a wonderful opportunity for international young filmmakers to explore the characteristics of Chinese people, the way of life in the Chinese society, and the charming natural scenery of China. 12 young friends from nine countries of Russia, Turkmenistan, Pakistan,Jamaica, Sudan, Congo (Brazzaville), Yemen,Nigeria and Madagascar went with students of Chongqing universities/colleges to 12 counties/districts including Dadukou District,Beibei District, Jiangjin District, Yongchuan District, Nanchuan District and Bishan District. They spent 10 days in experiencing local culture and producing films, focusing on hot topics like rural revitalization, inheritance of intangible cultural heritage, scientific and technological innovation and ecoconservation.

2022“看中國”的年度主題為“風華·風尚·風光”，旨在通過外國青年親身體驗和影像創作，探索中國人的風華、中國社會的風尚和中國廣袤的自然風光。來自俄羅斯、土庫曼斯坦、巴基斯坦、牙買加、蘇丹、剛果（布）、也門、尼日利亞、馬達加斯加等9個國家的12位在華外國青年，攜手重慶高校學生，深入重慶市大渡口、北碚、江津、永川、南川、璧山等12個區縣，圍繞鄉村振興、非遺傳承、科技創新、生態保護等熱點議題，完成為期數十天的影像創作和文化體驗。

Usama Kalim, director of, is from Pakistan. His film about Dongsheng Village in Beibei District shows a new path from “artistic representation” to “artistic influence to people”. The video records the heartwarming moments of different people joining together including the youth returning to hometown, water channel builders and wicker weavers to build their shared home. Every shot is a testament of art enriching people’s inner world and this is how arts play the role in promoting rural revitalization.

“In this trip, I found that not only in major cities has development been advanced by joint efforts of governments,enterprises and residents, but this is also true in building rural areas into beautiful attractions. I want to introduce to my own country this type of development model of making the rural area an art field and making art accessible in rural places.”

影片《旭日東升》的導演Usama Kalim來自巴基斯坦，他用鏡頭呈現出北碚東升村，從藝術“形塑”向藝術“鑄魂”邁進的新道路，記錄了返鄉青年、修渠人、柳編人等不同年齡、不同特長的東升人聚在一起，共建家園的美好瞬間。用鏡頭解答藝術如何沁潤心田、藝術如何助力鄉村發發展。

tells a story of Liu Zhengyu, a researcher who has nestled at the foot of Jinfo Mountain in Nanchuan District, Chongqing, carrying forward the missions of his father’s generation. Liu has been dedicated to wild science research in mountains for 50 years, during which he encountered many accidents. Eating grass, confronting wild beasts, snakes and insects, and heading to a dead end on a cliff have been a normal part of his daily life. For many times,he barely made it back from mountains. This film, from the perspective of Abdulsalam, a foreign director, salutes to the commitment and love of those devoted themselves to scientific researches.

“In order to get the best result of filming,we often climb up the mountain at 5 am for the sunrise, and at 12 pm for the stars. Indeed, we overcame numerous difficulties. We could always see the tears in his eyes when Mr. Liu’s revisited the past. I want to make their stories well-known to the public and I pay my highest respect to people like them because they are doing whatever they can to protect the plants and soil of Jinfo Mountain.”

影片《只此一生不夠》取材并聚焦于從父輩開始就扎根南川金佛山腳下的科研人劉正宇老先生的故事。老先生深入大山進行野外科學研究已經有50余年，期間多次遇到意外，食草充饑、野獸蛇蟲、懸崖絕壁都是常態，更是多次徘徊于生死邊緣。影片從外方導演Abdulsalam的視角，紀錄了中國科研工作者默默無聞的堅守與熱愛。

“為了拍攝，我們早上5點起來爬山拍日出，晚上12點拍星星，我們努力克服重重困難。劉老先生回憶過去，時常熱淚盈眶。我想讓更多人了解到這么一群人，他們不曾被大眾所熟知，但他們通過各種方式保護金佛山的植物土木，我十分尊敬他們?！?/p>

from the perspective of staff members of Tengzigou National Wetland Park and Guo Qiuling, a volunteer of the “Xiangsu Yamano-Reading Program”, tells the story of the “Xiangsu Yamano-Reading Program” launched in Qiaotou Town, Shizhu County, Chongqing. Guo Qiuling encourages the local children to participate in many activities and taps their potential in fulfilling their dreams and hopes. This fil is made by Aylale Garatayeva, a young Turkmenistan director.

“Through this filming, I have gained a deeper understanding of education and lives of children in rural China. ‘Xiangsu Yamano-Reading Program’, a nonprofitable program, plays an important role in helping rural kids access more comprehensive knowledge outside of textbooks and broaden their horizon. I hope my work can also convey this message: reading is of great importance to children living in mountain areas. And I call for more volunteers to help those kids read more.”

影片《閱覽風華》以藤子溝國家濕地公園工作人員、“鄉助山野·閱讀計劃”志愿者郭秋玲的視角，聚焦石柱縣橋頭鎮開展的“鄉助山野·閱讀計劃”，講述了郭秋玲帶領當地孩子開展活動，每個孩子都有實現夢想和希望的潛力。由來自土庫曼斯坦的青年導演Aylale Garatayeva完成。

“通過此次拍攝，更了解中國鄉村孩子的學習和生活情況?！l助山野·閱讀計劃’作為一個公益活動，幫助鄉村孩子獲取課外知識、增長見識。我希望自己的作品也能使觀眾認識到，閱讀對于大山里的孩子的重要意義，并呼吁更多志愿者去幫助鄉村孩子閱讀更多的書籍?！?/p>

A Vibrant Chongqing to the World

Odet Abadia, a foreign teacher of Shanghai Vancouver Film School of Shanghai University, attended this activity via internet and gave her comments. She said that this activity brought opportunities to young generations of China and other countries to learn from and communicate with each other. This year’s theme is very ambitious. Directors and producers have not only provided different lenses of Chongqing but also made the whole world see a brand-new look of Chongqing by applying innovative ideas to their films.

According to Zuo Tuqiang, Level II Inspector of the Department of Communications of the CPC Chongqing Municipal Committee, during the past five years, this activity has shown the world a vibrant Chongqing through unique lenses of foreign young filmmakers, presenting Chongqing’s enterprising spirit of “embarking on a journey to new accomplishments”, and making popular Chongqing’s featured elements such as Chuanjiang Haozi (boatmen’s song), bridges and buildings.Chongqing, a land of natural beauty and a city with cultural appeal, will be known by more and more people around the world.

An Chunyuan, Deputy Secretary of CPC Committee of Southwest University, said that 12 films screened during 2022 “Looking China -Chongqing Trip” showed to the whole world a new Chongqing and a multidimensional view of beautiful China.

向世界展現充滿活力的重慶

外方指導教師上海大學上海溫哥華電影學院Odet Abadia在線上點評此次活動。她表示，“看中國”為參與其中的中外青年帶來了學習、交流的機會。今年的主題非常宏大，導演和制作人將新穎的想法不斷地融入到影片創作中，不僅為我們展現了不同視角下的重慶，也讓全世界的人們看到重慶的嶄新面貌。

中共重慶市委宣傳部二級巡視員左圖強表示，5年來，“看中國·重慶行”通過外國青年電影人的獨特視角，向世界展現了充滿活力的重慶城市形象，弘揚了“行千里·致廣大”的重慶人文精神，傳播了“川江號子”“橋梁建筑”等重慶特色文化，“山水之城·美麗之地”魅力更加彰顯。

西南大學黨委副書記安春元表示，2022“看中國·重慶行”12部影片讓全世界的友人看到嶄新的重慶面貌、立體的美麗中國。
