寫給苔蘚

How you came to know all that you are sure of

how you discovered the darkness of green

uncurling into the daylight out of

its origins unsounded as your own

how you learned to fashion shapes of water

into softness itself that stayed in place

and kept some secret of caves wherever

you were but with such welcome seemed to rise

that in time you became as some believe

a model for the cheek and then the breast

the wren felt she knew most of that before

there were breasts or cheeks and she made out of

living bits of you the globe of her nest

as though that was what you had grown there for.

伸向陽光又不見源頭

正如你自己深淺莫測

你如何學會把不同形狀的水

塑造得既聽話又柔和

還保守著每一個你所在的山洞里的秘密

像人們看到的那樣

你被塑成了面頰的形狀然后是胸口的形狀

在出現許多面頰和胸口的形狀之前

那鷦鷯就已洞悉了一切

她用你活生生的肢體造出了她的巢和她的世界

仿佛那就是你生于此處的目的
