Germany’s Green Example Could Be Revolutionary

United Nations Environmental Program (UNEP) executive director Achim Steiner has claimed Germany's \"third industrial revolution\"as evidence that development of low-carbon or no-carbon technologies would create the wealth and jobs for entire industries, offsetting the potential costs of reducing carbon output that many energy ministers and industrialists argued against. According to an independent consulting firm, new energy and ecology-related sectors will be employing more people in the country than mechanical engineering or the automotive industry by 2020.

Fair Trade in Bloom

Importers and retailers are rushing to meet a growing demand from consumers and activists to adhere to stricter environmental and social standards. Fairtrade Labelling Organizations International, a European-based organization that represents fair trade producers in Central and South America, Africa and Asia, reports the fair trade products that have experienced the biggest increase in demand include coffee, cocoa and cotton.

Carbon Footprints to be Labeled on Products

Companies such as Tesco plc, Cadbury Schweppes plc, The Timberland Company, The Coca-Cola Company and Halifax Corporation have signed up to measure the\"carbon footprints\"on some of their flagship products.

Green Companies and Green Jobs Attract Employees
