“情態(tài)動詞+have+過去分詞”這一結構可以表示各種不同的意義,是中學英語的難點之一,也是歷年高考測試的熱點內(nèi)容之一。筆者根據(jù)歷年高考題將此內(nèi)容作一歸納。
一、“should(ought to)+have+過去分詞”結構表示“過去應該做某事而沒有做到”,即“本應該……(其實沒有)”,含有后悔、責備或婉轉(zhuǎn)批評之意。例如:

二、“must+have+過去分詞”結構表示對過去發(fā)生的事情肯定的推測或者推論,只用在肯定句,含有一定、準是的意思。例如:

三、“could+have+過去分詞”結構表示對過去發(fā)生的事情作出否定判斷或者推理,可用于肯定句、否定句或者疑問句中,含有“本來能夠……而沒有”之意,有遺憾或者委婉批評、責備的口氣。例如:

但“can’t+have+過去分詞”結構則表示對過去行為的否定推斷,含有“決不會……”、“不大可能……”的意思。例如:

但是在“can+have+過去分詞”結構中,它表示對過去發(fā)生的行為的懷疑和不肯定。例如:

四、“may(might)+have+過去分詞”結構表示對過去發(fā)生的事情的猜測,might比may表示的可能性更小,在肯定句中表示“本來可以……而沒有……”,含有“勸告”或“責備”之意。例如:
