Never Thought of Becoming an Actress.

Born on Aug. 25， 1987， Lively was raised in Tarzana， California， in a close-knit3) show business family. Her father， Ernie， was a veteran4) Hollywood actor and director; her mother， Elaine， a talent agent. Lively was the youngest of five siblings5)， a group which included her actor brothers Jason and Eric and actress sisters Robyn and Lori.

At age 5， she lost out on a major role in the Robin Williams comedy Mrs. Doubtfire (1993)， but was one of two finalists6). At age 10， Lively had made her acting debut7) in a film entitled， Sandman (1998)， but the experience did not leave her wanting more work. Lively had little interest in acting and no plans to go into the show business. Instead she focused on her studies.

\"I had no clue what I wanted to do， but I knew it was not acting—just because my whole family was in it， and it was the only job I really knew of. And I thought， 'That's really cool but that's not something I want to do.' So I worked my whole life to go to Stanford， and the summer between my junior and senior year of high school.\"

As I Chose It， I Decided to Love It，

and Devote to It.

Despite her academic leanings8)， Lively's siblings were convinced their sister had the family gift and would take to9) it if given the right opportunity. Her older brother Eric decided that she would love acting. So he made his agent send Lively out on a few auditions. She went on two auditions and then got her first major role—Bridget， in The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants (2005).

\"Everybody was telling me， 'Oh， you can't go back to high school. You can't finish your senior year. You gotta keep doing movies now， get yourself out there.' I was very involved in school: I was class president; I was in nationally competitive show choir; I was in cheerleading; I was in all AP classes10); and I was in six different clubs. So it was my life. I was at every fundraiser11)， every event.\"

However， by the time Lively had finished her senior year， she had been bitten enough by the acting bug12)， that she deferred an admission to Stanford University for fall of 2005 in order to continue her career.

Lively is fearless. Of her high school experience， shesaid， \"I can't sing or dance， and I was in the No. 1 show choir in the nation—all you do is sing and dance. And I was always singing as loud as I could， because I loved it. I was so passionate about it.\"

I and Serena， We Are Alike， in Some Way.

When asked whether she was like Serena， the character she played in Gossip Girl， she said， \"No， not at all. Serena was brought up very differently than I was brought up. Serena was given everything her whole life...I grew up in a small little town in California—Burbank， where these people have masquerade13) balls or go lounge at The Palace Hotel. I went to high school and what we would do on our nights off was to go to a school fundraiser， or go to a football game. \"

\"At the heart of it all， Serena really wants to be a good person—despite all odds， despite all the chaos that's going on around her and all the other people in her life，\"Blake Lively said， \"So I think I strive to do the right thing and not fall into the norm14) like so many young people in Hollywood who get caught up in some of the nonsense. And I really try to steer15) clear of that. So， you know， we're like that in the same way. We both giggle a lot. We look alike.\"

Fame Can Never Disturb My Life.

She's unfazed16) by fame. Lively said， \"Stars really are like anyone else. At the end of the day， Brad Pitt poops17)—as handsome as he may be—and so does Angelina Jolie. I'm still baffled18) by how odd this job is.\"

She might have gotten a nose job. Rumors swirled19) that after filming Accepted， Lively went in for20) cosmetic surgery. But she said， \"People want to talk. They want to create negative things about you and your life， make up things. You can't look at it. You can't let them affect you.\"

She determined to stay grounded as her star rises. And she will never forget her dream in childhood: she used to want to be an interior decorator. Lively said， \"Baking and flower arranging have always been my favorite hobbies.\"

萊夫利可能做過鼻子整容手術。有謠傳說，在拍完《錄取通知》后，萊夫利就做了整容手術。但是她說：“有些人總是愛傳謠言。他們總想給你和你的生活編造一些負面消息，胡編瞎造。你不能看這些東西。不能讓這些負面消息影響你。”

當演藝事業蒸蒸日上時，她仍然下定決心要繼續腳踏實地。她永遠不會忘記自己童年的夢想：她曾經夢想成為一名室內裝潢師。萊夫利說：“烤面包和插花始終是我最喜歡做的事。”
