As在高中英語課本中出現(xiàn)的頻率很高,主要是作介詞和連詞使用。因其作為連詞的用法較多。常是困擾學(xué)生的難點(diǎn)之一。下面我們對(duì)這一用法進(jìn)行分類歸納。
一、as用于引導(dǎo)定語從句
As引導(dǎo)的定語從句又可分為限制性定語從句和非限制性定語從句。
(1)as引導(dǎo)的限制性定語從句通常構(gòu)成“as…as…”,“such…as…”或者“the same…as…”等固定搭配,as在從句中用作主語、賓語、或表語。
例如:
①Repeat this as of ten as is necessary.
?、赟uch women as knew Tom thought hewas charming.
?、踄ou must show my wife the samerespect as you show me.
(2)as可以作為關(guān)系代詞引導(dǎo)非限制性定語從句??梢杂脕泶嬉粋€(gè)句子或單詞,as引導(dǎo)的這類定語從句可以放在句首、句中或句中。
例如:
①As was expected,he performed thetask with sucoess.
?、赟ophia was dishonest,as could bejudged from her eyes.
?、酠y teacher,as might be expected,was present at the meeting.
二、as用于引導(dǎo)時(shí)間、原因、方式或者讓步狀語從句
(1)as引導(dǎo)時(shí)間狀語從句時(shí),表示主句的動(dòng)作和從句的動(dòng)作往往同時(shí)發(fā)生,具有延伸意義,一般同延續(xù)性動(dòng)詞連用,有時(shí)可以翻譯為“一邊……一邊……”。
A)某件事一發(fā)生,另一件事立即發(fā)生。
①As the sun lose.the fog disappeared.
B)在某事發(fā)生過程中,另一件事發(fā)生。
?、贏s I was coming here,I met your brother.
c)兩個(gè)動(dòng)作同時(shí)發(fā)生。
?、跦e smiled as passed.
?、躻e get wlse as we get older.
(2)as引導(dǎo)原因狀語從句往往是十分明顯的原因,聽者或讀者已經(jīng)知道或者能夠看出來,語氣較弱,只能起附帶說明的作用,比較口語化。
例如:
?、貯s allthe seats werefull,he stood up.
②It’s difficu It for us to know what to doas we are not his parents.
(3)as引導(dǎo)比較狀語從句,表示同級(jí)比較,意思是“像……一樣”。
例如:
①I cannot run as fast as he can.
(4)as可用于引導(dǎo)方式狀語從句,意思是:“如同……”,或者“按照……”。
①The students do everything as theteacher does.
?、贗’ve changed it as you suggest.
(5)as用于引導(dǎo)讓步狀語從句,意思是“雖然”“盡管”,從句需要用倒裝語序。
?、賑hild as he is.he knows a lot.
?、赑oor as he was,he was honest.
③Try as you will.you won"t manage it.
④Much as I admire him as a writer,Idon’t like him as a alan.
