單詞串聯法
對于一詞多義的情況,可把這個單詞的幾種意思放置于同一個句子中,學生只需記住這個句子就行了。如“present”一詞:The present president presented each guest present a valuable present.(現任總統給在場的每位客人贈送了一份珍貴的禮物。)短短一個句子就把學生要掌握的“present”的含義一一呈現出來了。再如:I can can a can into a can.(我能把一個罐子裝在另一個罐子里。)I saw a saw saw a saw.(我看到一個鋸子在鋸另外一個鋸子。)這種訓練提高了學生學習英語的興趣,增強了記憶的效果。
趣味故事法
如在講“wind”做動詞的用法時,我編了這樣一個小故事:One day, an old man was walking on a winding path which winded a valley. Suddenly, a strong wind blew him down, he stopped to recover his wind(呼吸、氣息) and shouted, “The wind is breaking wind.”(放屁)講完之后我讓學生找出里面所有的“wind”并理解它的詞性和意思。關于break的相關短語,我展示了這樣一個小故事:A war broke out on Sunday. I drove my tank to break through on Monday. On Tuesday I broke off enemies’ food supply. On Wednesday I broke into Hitler’s building. At last, I broke up the terrible war. But my tank broke down. 要求學生在這個故事中討論各個break短語的意思和用法,并且在課后背誦,學生們熱情高漲。
情景呈現法
學習必修二第五單元的課文“The Band That Wasn’t”之前,我得知班上有很多唱歌不錯的學生,并且組成了演唱組合“黑玫瑰”。學習完課文之后,我讓組合中的一位同學簡單地介紹了他們的情況,并以這個情況為情景,讓他們用本節課中的詞匯描述這個樂隊。學生們經過熱烈的討論后,紛紛展示了自己小組的成果。其中有一個小組是這樣描述的:They always dream of being famous musicians. They also attach great importance to becoming rich. But they can’t earn any extra money.(學生們大笑起來) They have to rely on their parents now. But I am sure that they will become millionaires one day. Sometimes they play humorous jokes each other in our class, pretending they are famous singers. I wish they can give performance in pubs with their own instruments. To be honest, I would like to get more familiar with them, so please give us more wonderful performance from now on.
團隊競賽法
教完必修三第一單元的課文后,就是可要求學生在小組間交流如何記憶詞匯,之后每個小組派一位學生到黑板上,在規定的時間內寫出盡可能多的剛學過的生詞和短語,寫得最多的那個小組獲勝,獲勝的小組可以在平時小組的積分中增加一分。學習了“The Olympic Games”這個單元的課文后,我讓學生小組合作把課文中的詞匯按開頭的字母進行排列,開頭字母相同的分成一組,比如:“ regular, responsibility, replace”“slave,swifter, stand for, stadium”等,然后在小組中先交流,看看哪個組在限定的時間內寫得又快又多。
