淺析語篇的銜接與連貫

語篇銜接與連貫對于語篇的理解很重要,本文先介紹語篇的銜接與連貫,再舉出具體語篇進行逐句分析,從中得出結論,總結規律。
語篇銜接連貫
語篇無論是口頭表達還是書面表達,都必須銜接合理,符合邏輯,語義連貫。連貫不但要依靠語篇表層結構中各個句子之間的銜接,而且要符合語義。
銜接是語篇特征的重要內容,它體現在語篇的表層結構上,有語法手段(包括照應,替代,省略等)和詞匯手段(復現關系和同現關系)的使用。銜接是語篇的有形網絡。
連貫指的是語篇中語義的關聯,連貫存在于語篇的底層,通過邏輯推理來達到語義連接,它是語篇的無形網絡。
Across the Channel
[1]DebbieHartisgoingtoswimacrosstheEnglish Channel tomorrow.[2]She is going to set out from the French coast at five o’clock in the morning.[3]Debbie is only eleven years old and she hopes to set up a new world record.[4]She is a strong swimmer and many people feel that she is sure to succeed.[5]Debbie’s father will set out with her in a small boat.[6]Mr.Hart has trained his daughter for years.[7]He will be watching her anxiously as she swims the long distance to England tomorrow.[8]Debbie intends to take short rests every two hours.[9]She will have something to drink but she will not eat any solid food.[10]Most of Debbie’s school friends will be waiting for her on the English coast.[11]Among them willbeDebbie’smother,whoswamtheChannelherself when she was a girl.
In the first sentence,it is the whole background of the following text.In the second sentence,third person pronoun“she”refers to Debbie Hart.And“at five o’clock”and“in the morning”refer to five o’clock in tomorrow’s morning.In thethirdsentence,thirdpersonpronoun“she”refersto Debbie.And it is a causal conjunction that tries to express the meaning that although Debbie is so young,she has a big dream.In the forth sentence,third person pronoun“she”also refers to Debbie.And it ellipsis the part of‘to set up a new record’in the following of‘that’.In the fifth sentence,“her”refers to Debbie.There is a strong collocational bond between boat and the English Channel,which makes the occurrence of boat in the sentence be cohesive.In the sixth sentence,“Mr Hart”refers to Debbie’s father,and“his daughter”refers to Debbie.In the seventh sentence,third person pronoun“he”refers to Debbie’s father,and“she”refers to Debbie.And‘thelongdistancetoEngland’isusedtosubstitutethe English Channel.In the ninth sentence,third person pronoun“she”refers to Debbie.And conjunction“but”is a turn in the course of events.It will stress the events that“she will not eat any solid food”.In the tenth sentence,“her”refers to Debbie”.In the eleventh sentence,“them”refers to Debbie’s school friends.
銜接與連貫是英語語篇分析的兩個重要內容,銜接是實現連貫的重要條件。隨著人們對于語篇教學的重視,了解銜接與連貫的方式和特點對于語篇的理解及其重要。
