The innovation story about China and the Global Village

There used to be an eye-catching slogan hanging in our magazine office. It says that “ everyday， we are honest observer and speaker about the stories of China and global village innovation.

The slogan seems to encourage that each one of us working in the Zhong Guan Cun Magazine that we should pay more attention and talk more about the representatives of China， Zhong Guancun （Chinas silicon valley） high-tech enterprises and innovative new things in the world today. Careful readers may find there are words “Zhong Guan Cun” embedded in this slogan.

Frankly speaking， Zhong Guan Cun Magazine is not the main character and narrator of the everyday stories of China and global village innovation. The real narrator is Zhong Guan Cun area itself， who has been growing in such a amazing way since the opening up of China. Zhong Guan Cun not only is the first Chinese high-tech park but also the first national independent innovation demonstration zone.

Ever since Deng Xiaoping， the chief architect of reform and initiator of the Chinas open door policy， personally signed in 1979 with the United States a science and technology education exchange agreement， pioneers and scientists such as Chen Chunxian from Zhong Guancun area have gradually open the Zhong Guancun unique road of entrepreneurial innovation. In a flash of 30 years， Lenovo， Stone， UF， Founder， New Oriental school， Sina， Sohu， Baidu， Millet， Jingling and so on all born in this small booming area. Zhong Guancun has truly became a hotbed of innovation and the commanding heights of Chinas knowledge-based economy. In September 30， 2012， All members of the Politburo led by General Secretary Xi Jinping， went to Zhongguancun collective learning.The past two years， Premier Li Keqiang frequently advocated public business， peoples innovation， repeatedly referred to the Zhongguancun. After one interview， journalists from the German Der Spiegel magazine said that if theres a place can really surpass the Silicon Valley， it is going to be Chinas Zhong Guancun. Washington Post from U.S. also has a column titled “American should really be afraid of what from China”， which argues that the biggest secret that made the United States a truly super power is the combination of capital and technology， and todays Chinese people have already found this secret. The article describes Zhongguncun innovation and entrepreneurship scene with the fine examples such as “Garage Coffee”.

Indeed， the parks story has already attracted attentions from around the world. Zhongguancun will definitely continue to tell its own unique and new stories every day of innovation and entrepreneurship.

The cover story of our current issue of Zhong Guan Cun magazine focused on the event where global innovation elites all gathered in our area. In September 22， known as the “Olympic game “ among international science parks， IASP （international Science and Technology park annual meeting） opened the curtain in Beijing. Humans simply cannot live without innovation otherwise we are still remain in the stone age where we get fire from logs and hunting. Zhongguncun， since both China and the world has placed such high sincere hope for you， you should really be constantly updating us with yet more innovative and appealing stories！
