1.[教材原句]While walking the dog，you were careless and it got loose and was hit by a car.在遛狗的時候，你不小心松了手，結果狗被一輛汽車撞了。

[點撥] while walking the dog 為狀語從句的省略句式。

[仿寫] 爬山時，我們享受到了溫暖的陽光和美麗的風景。

______，we enjoyed the warm sunshine and a beautiful view.

2.[教材原句]She and her family hid away for nearly twenty-five months before they were discovered.她與家人躲藏了將近二十五個月之后才被發現。

[點撥] before引導時間狀語從句，意為“在……之后才”。

[仿寫] 將近一天之后，他才意識到他的錯誤并向他的朋友彼得道歉。

he realized his mistakes and apologized to his friend Peter.

3.[教材原句]...it was the first time in a year and a half that Id seen the night face to face...……這是我這一年半以來第一次目睹夜晚……

[點撥] It/This/That is the first time that...（現在完成時）……第一次做某事；It/This/That was the first time that...（過去完成時）……第一次做某事。

[仿寫] 南京青奧會于2014年8月28日結束，這是南京第一次舉辦如此重要的體育賽事。

The Nanjing Youth Olympic Games came to an end on Aug.28，2014.It was the first time that .

4.[教材原句] Native English speakers can understand each other even if they dont speak the same kind of English.以英語作為母語的人，即使他們所講的英語不盡相同，也可以相互理解。

[點撥] even if意為“即使；盡管”，引導讓步狀語從句。

[仿寫] 李教授總是讓學生在課堂上發表他們自己的觀點，盡管有時候他們的觀點聽起來不那么靠譜。

Professor Li always allows his students to voice their opinions in class， sometimes.

5.[教材原句] It was based more on German than the English we speak at present.

當時的英語更多地是以德語為基礎，而我們今天所說的英語不是。

[點撥] more...than...意為“比……更；與其說……不如說……”，在此結構中，肯定的是more后面的內容，而否定的是than后面的內容。

[仿寫] 他們沒有回家，與其說我擔心倒不如說我生氣。

6.[教材原句] Believe it or not，there is no such thing as standard English.

信不信由你，世界上沒有什么標準英語。

[點撥] 句中“no such+單數名詞”意為“沒有這樣的……”，其中單數名詞前不可再加冠詞，相當于“not such a/an+單數名詞”。

【知識拓展】

（1）such+a（n）+adj.+單數名詞adj.+復數名詞adj.+不可數名詞+that結果狀語從句

（2）such...as...像……這樣的……，as在句中引導定語從句

7.[教材原句]Although she didnt know the best way of getting to places，she insisted that she organize the trip properly.

雖然她對去某些地方的最佳路線并不清楚，她卻堅持要自己把這次旅行安排得盡善盡美。

[點撥] insist that...（should） do sth.“堅持主張/要求……”。

[仿寫] 政府堅持要制訂計劃幫助失業的人。

The government insisted that plans to help people out of work.

8.[教材原句] When I told her the air would be hard to breathe and it would be very cold，she said it would be an interesting experience.

當我告訴她那里空氣稀薄，呼吸會困難而且天氣很冷時，她卻說這將是一次有趣的經歷。

[點撥] the air would be hard to breathe 是“主語+be+adj.+不定式”結構。不定式常用主動形式表示被動意義。

[仿寫] 依許多人看來，那個公司雖然相對來說較小，但是很容易打交道。

In many peoples opinion，that company，though relatively small，is pleasant .

9.[教材原句] We can hardly wait to see them！我們迫不及待地想要見到他們！

[點撥] can hardly wait to do sth./for sth.=cannot wait to do sth./for sth.“迫不及待地要做某事；急切地做某事”。

[仿寫] 我迫不及待地告訴瑪麗她被北京大學錄取的好消息。

I Mary the good news that she has been admitted to Peking University.

Key：can hardly wait to tell/cant wait to tell

10.[教材原句] It seemed as if the world was at an end！

仿佛到了世界末日！

[點撥] as if “好像”。后常接表語從句或方式狀語從句，若表示非真實情況常用虛擬語氣。

[仿寫] 這個講故事的人以一種生動的方式給我們講故事，好像他親身經歷過的一樣。

The storyteller was telling us a story in a vivid way .

11.[教材原句] Thousands of families were killed and many children were left without parents.成千上萬個家庭遇難，許多孩子變成了孤兒。

[點撥] leave作使役動詞，意為“使……處于某種狀態”。

[仿寫] 他的房子著火了，因為他出去后廚房爐灶還在燒。

His house caught fire，because he went out but in the kitchen.

12.[教材原句] All hope was not lost.不是所有的希望都破滅了。

[點撥] 本句為部分否定的句型。All...not...=Not all...“并不是所有的……都……”。

【知識拓展】

英語中的all，both，each，every，everybody，everything，completely，always，whole，wholly，entirely，altogether等具有總括意義的代詞、形容詞和副詞與否定詞not連用，無論not 位置如何，均構成部分否定，表示“并非都”的意思

[仿寫] 并非所有的學生都遵守學校規章制度，因此作為一名老師，我們應嚴格要求他們。

[點撥] the first time “第一次……”，引導時間狀語從句。
