文學選譯

【摘要】：選取中國古典文學詩詞作品進行翻譯，體悟中國文學精髓。文學翻譯中，選取了詩歌、散文、詞、經典范圍的作品，進一步體現了作品多樣化層次。在翻譯過程中，英譯作品也盡可能在字數、韻律等各方面保持原作品風貌。

十年生死兩茫茫，不思量，自難忘。千里孤墳，無處話凄涼。縱使相逢應不識，塵滿面，鬢如霜。

夜來幽夢忽還鄉，小軒窗，正梳妝。相顧無言，惟有淚千行。料得年年腸斷處，明月夜，短松岡。

Su Shi

Ten-years life and death we’ve crossed.Not a thought，or being forgot.Lonely grave thousand lis away.At nowhere could my heart stay.Now that we’re met unrecognized in dream，looks that fade，side beard grayed.

A night sneaks in with a homecoming dream.At the window，you groom，old.My eyes on yours，only having tears to fall.It appears that you’ve been gone for years，the moon clear ，the bush drear.

愛蓮說

周敦頤

水陸草木之花，可愛者甚蕃。晉陶淵明獨愛菊。自李唐來，世人甚愛牡丹。予獨愛蓮之出淤泥而不染，濯清漣而不妖，中通外直，不蔓不枝，香遠益清，亭亭凈植，可遠觀而不可褻玩焉。

予謂菊，花之隱逸者也；牡丹，花之富貴者也；蓮，花之君子者也。噫！菊之愛，陶后鮮有聞。蓮之愛，同予者何人？牡丹之愛，宜乎眾矣！

Flowers grow on herbs and trees，which are terrestrial and aquatic，adored by many fanatics.At Jin Dynasty ‘twas chrysanthemum Tao adored only.Ever since Tang Dynasty，the wananchi have been addicted to peony.’Tis lotus flower I adore only for its cleanness out of mire and its humbleness out of water.Of straight-stalk shape without vines or twigs，it smells fresh afar，looking straight and unstained.It allows being adored afar but not being nipped near.

I reckon chrysanthemum as the recluse；peony，the richest；lotus flower，the rightest.Sigh！Fanatic of chrysanthemum，’tis less heard since Tao.Fanatic of lotus flower，who else’s with me now？For fanatic of peony ，’tis popular with the crowd！

望廬山瀑布 A Visit to Hill Lu Cascade

李白 Li Bai

日照香爐生紫煙，In the sunlight Hill Lu turns purple；

遙看瀑布掛前川。Afar is the cascade that looks draping.

飛流直下三千尺，Upon three thousand feet it drops straight；

疑是銀河落九天。Down through nine heavens pours the galaxy.

春曉 A Spring Dawn

孟浩然 Meng Haoran

春眠不覺曉，Spring sleep quietens the dawn；

處處聞啼鳥。Birds everywhere are singing songs.

夜來風雨聲，Storm yesternight was howling loud，

花落知多少。Petals countless on the ground.

三字經·選譯

Three-Word Ballad

人之初，Born as paper，

性本善。We were blank，

性相近，Similar in characters，

習相遠。Different in gaining.

茍不教，Less good education，

性乃遷。More characters change.

教之道，Key to education

貴以專。Lies in attention.

昔孟母，Remember Mencius’ mother；

擇鄰處。Relocate three times.

子不學，’Twas dysfunctional before

斷機杼。Loom-breaking lesson.

竇燕山，Dou from Yanshan

有義方。Raises good sons.

教五子，All become best；

名俱揚。Fame’s got spread.

養不教，Feeding without guiding，

父之過。’Tis parents’ fault.

教不嚴，Teaching with idleness，

師之惰。’Tis teachers’ laziness.

子不學，Child craves looseness；

非所宜。All be wasted.

幼不學，Unlearned when young；

老何為。Futile when old.

蒹葭 Baby Reeds

蒹葭蒼蒼，From one bed to another，

白露為霜。Lies the frost upon reeds.

所謂伊人，Where is dream lover？

在水一方。On the other side it’s seen.

溯洄從之，To cross against the water，

道阻且長。’Tis hard and long to meet.

溯游從之，To cross along the water，

宛在水中央。’Tis like being in its midst.

蒹葭萋萋，From one bed to another，

白露未晞。Lies the dew upon reeds.

所謂伊人，Where is dream lover？

在水之湄。Across the river there is.

溯洄從之，To cross against the water，

道阻且躋。’Tis hard to land and shin.

溯游從之，To cross along the water，

宛在水中坻。’Tis like being on a sand hill.

蒹葭采采，From one bed to another，

白露未已。Lies the dew undried upon reeds.

所謂伊人，Where is dream lover？

在水之涘。Over the river it leads.

溯洄從之，To cross against the water，

道阻且右。’Tis meandering to reach.

溯游從之，To cross along the water，

宛在水中沚。’T is like being on a shoal hill.
