People do have dreams. However, not all those dreams come true. Some people may give up their dreams for this or that reason. Those who have realized their dreams have one thing in common: they always hold fast to their dreams.

Marie Curie, a famous scientist, has set a good example. In 1898, Marie found a new element in the pitchblende. In order to prove her discovery, she must get it and show it to the world. Then to get the new element became her dream and goal of her life. It took her four years to realize that dream. Therefore,dreams don't abandon those who pursue dreams painstakingly. As long as you never stop pursuing, you will bathe in the brilliance of the dream.

Hold fast to your dreams, no matter how big or small they are. You are never too old,too poor, too young, or too sick to live your dreams. Dreams are just dreams until you decide they are going to be something more.

The other part was academic. Around the end of my first year at Wellesley College,Chip told me that he had written down and sealed in an envelope what I would do after graduation. With his encouragement and faith in my ability, I worked as hard as I could in the classroom. And, in my senior year I was selected as a scholarship candidate.I ended up losing the scholarship to another more worthy candidate, but I never lost self-confidence.

Chip passed away after a long illness last year. All his “scratch and dent kids” came to his funeral. It was with his encouragement that we were full of laughter, got through tough spots, and became better humans. He left us the greatest gift of all—he helped us believe in ourselves. And we'll carry the gift with us forever. I am grateful that I fell into Chip's orbit and will forever be grateful for my experience as one of his “kids”.
