Breeding report of a new early-maturing loquat cultivar Yingshuang

Abstract: Yingshuang is a new early maturing loquat cultivar derived from a cross between Ninghaibai and Jiajiao. The hybridization was carried out in December 2011 and hybrid seedlings were raised and transplanted into the field in 2012. The seedlings began to blossom in 2016 and bear fruit in 2017. After 3 years of continuous evaluation, Yingshuang was finally selected from 42 hybrids. The scions of this plant were collected and propagated for further field trials. The trees of this cultivar were open with round crown, vigorous growth, and high flowering rate of branches. The leaves were lanceolate and inclined upward. The leaf tip was gradually pointed, the leaf base was wedge-shaped, the leaf margin was curled outward, the serration was shallow, and the density was medium. The inflorescence was conical. The inflorescence branch axis was flat, with an average number of 10.3 branch axes. The inflorescence density was medium, with an average number of 97 flowers per panicle. The full-blooming period was from mid to late December, the second and third batches of flowers bloomed 20-30 days later than the cultivar of Ninghaibai. The fruit setting rate was high, with an average of 8.5 fruits per panicler. The fruit was nearly round, with semi-open of calyx pore. The surface of the fruit is orange, which was easy to peel. The average fruit weight was 34.8 g, the soluble solid content was 15.4%, the titratable acid content was 0.23% and the edible rate was 75.7%. The average number of seed was 4.6 per fruit, the average number of shrivelled seeds was 1.4 per fruit, and the average weight of seed per fruit was 5.7 g. The flesh was yellowish white, tender and juicy, with rich flavor, good slagging and, palatable taste. Yingshuang was an early ripening variety and the mature period of the fruits in open field in northern Zhejiang was mid to late May, 5-7 days earlier than that of Ninghaibai. Under the conditions of open cultivation, the average yield was 668.3 kg per 666.7 m2, and the resistance to freezing and fruit cracking was significantly better than that of the local cultivar Ninghaibai.

枇杷是浙江省特色水果,種質資源豐富,栽培歷史悠久[1]。枇杷根據果肉顏色可分為白肉和黃肉兩類[2],其中白肉枇杷果實肉質細膩、柔軟多汁、風味鮮美、味甜似蜜,深受消費者的青睞[3]。白肉枇杷也因獨特品質具有良好的經濟、社會效益,近年來在浙江省得到了快速發展,栽培面積上升至枇杷總面積的45%~50%[4]。在長期實生繁育過程中,浙江形成了以余杭塘棲的軟條白沙[1]枇杷、寧海的寧海白[5]枇杷、麗水的太平白[6]枇杷等為主的地方品種。這些品種主要通過實生選種獲得,雖然品質優勢明顯,但白肉主栽品種的花期較黃肉品種早,且在抗低溫、抗裂果、抗日灼、抗皺果能力方面表現不佳,在異常極端氣候下這類白肉品種商品產量低,嚴重時甚至絕收。因此,選育花期晚、熟期搭配、抗逆性強、品質佳的枇杷良種是當前白肉枇杷產業結構調整和發展的迫切需求。通過雜交育種將老品種進行基因改良是創制出新的優質抗性品種的有效途徑。為表明寧海白枇杷花期早、抗逆性差的缺點,浙江省農業科學院園藝研究所以培育早熟、優質、抗逆為育種目標,開展了早熟枇杷新品種的選育工作。2011年以品質優的寧海白枇杷為母本,以塘棲晚花、抗逆、豐產的黃肉品種夾腳枇杷為父本進行雜交,選育出晚花抗凍的早熟白肉枇杷新品種迎霜。
1 選育經過
2011年12月以寧海白枇杷為母本、夾腳枇杷為父本在浙江省農業科學院海寧楊渡創新基地進行雜交,2012年5月收獲一批雜交種子,將雜交種子播種在營養缽中,2013年定植于田間,2016年始花,2017—2018年進行開花結果、果實性狀與抗性調查分析,從這一雜交組合中初步篩選出白肉與黃肉優系各2個,代號3-C006的株系因花期遲、抗凍、抗栓皮、抗裂果,且成熟期早、品質優,性狀穩定而被選育出。2018年起對該優系進行育苗和高接,并在枇杷主產區余杭、蘭溪、淳安等地引種區試,2020年定名為迎霜。2020—2022年,經過3年連續觀察,該品種在各地的抗逆性、豐產性、穩產性、果實品質等綜合性狀表現穩定,特征特性與母樹表現一致。2022年5月通過浙江省林木良種審定委員會審定(編號:浙S-SV-EJ-007-2022)(圖1)。
2 主要性狀
2.1 植物學特征
該樹樹形為小喬木或喬木,樹姿半開張,冠形為半圓球形至圓球形,枝條與主干夾角中大,樹干皮孔少,中心干明顯,主干灰白色,一年生老熟枝條棕褐色,枝條茸毛量中等,中心枝平均長度32.52 cm,粗度1.37 cm,側枝數量4個,側枝平均長度50.12 cm,粗度1.19 cm,枝梢質地中等,葉片形狀柳葉刀形,葉片斜向上生長,葉片較長,平均長度32.99 cm,寬度中等,為10.72 cm,長寬比為3.1,葉片厚度0.33 mm,葉片顏色綠色至深綠色,質地中等,葉尖形狀尾尖,葉基形狀楔形,葉緣形狀外卷,葉片橫切面凹形,葉背顏色灰黃色,葉背茸毛中多,鋸齒密度中等,鋸齒淺,鋸齒形狀銳尖,鋸齒占葉緣的2/3,葉脈對數13~18對,平均16對,葉背中脈凸起明顯,葉脈茸毛較多,背面網脈明顯,側脈直出,葉柄長度1.16 cm,粗度0.55 cm,葉片正面褶皺,正面和背面均有茸毛,托葉脫落,平均長度為1.17 cm;花序為圓錐形,花序平均長度為8.80 cm,寬度為13.21 cm,花序支軸姿態平展,花序平均支軸數為10.3個,花序緊密度中等,平均小花數每穗97朵,秋冬開花,始花期11月下旬,盛花期12月中下旬,終花期為1月中下旬。花柱數每花5個,雄蕊數20個,花直徑2.52 cm,花瓣顏色黃白色。在浙江省農業科學院海寧楊渡基地成熟期5月20日左右,較對照寧海白早5~7 d,早熟優質。
2.2 果實經濟性狀
果實近圓形,萼孔半開張。縱切面形狀橢圓形,縱徑3.86 cm,橫徑3.92 cm,平均單果質量34.8 g。果面黃白色,果皮厚度中等,平均0.03 cm,易剝皮。果肉黃白色,果肉硬度中等,厚度0.83 cm,質地細嫩,化渣性好,汁液多,酸甜適口。種子數平均4.6粒·果-1,干癟種子數平均每果1.4粒,每果種子平均質量5.7 g,平均可食率75.7%。坐果率高,在不疏果情況下平均每穗8.5果,抗凍、抗裂果。成熟果實可溶性固形物含量達15.4%,可溶性總糖含量14.2%,還原糖含量14.2%,抗壞血酸含量1.34 mg·100 g-1,可滴定酸含量0.23%,風味酸甜適口(表1)。
2.3 生長結果習性
迎霜枇杷樹勢強,樹冠圓頭形,樹姿半開張,枝條成花率高,結果枝率超過90%,結果性能好,豐產穩產。4年生樹平均株產量16.3 kg,露地按照每666.7 m2栽植密度4 m×4 m種植,折合每666.7 m2產量668.3 kg。
2.4 物候期
迎霜枇杷春芽萌動在2月中旬至3月中旬,與寧海白枇杷相近,枇杷現蕾為9月下旬至10月上旬,初花期為10月下旬至11月上旬,盛花期在11月中下旬至12月中下旬,花期較長,轉色期4月上中旬,在浙北地區露地成熟期5月中下旬,浙中南地區露地成熟期在5月上中旬。
2.5 抗逆性與栽培適應性
2020—2022年在杭州仁和、蘭溪女埠街道、海寧許村等地開展區試試驗,連續3 a觀測,通過對比發現,規模基地種植的迎霜枇杷均表現與母樹無異,適應性強。區試迎霜枇杷整體樹勢強,花期遲,抗凍性強,特別是成熟期的果栓皮、裂果、皺果率低,抗逆性明顯強于當地栽培的寧海白和軟條白沙。
3 栽培技術要點
3.1 建園
選擇年平均氣溫高于15 ℃、1月極端最低氣溫不低于-9 ℃、小氣候溫度高的山地或平地建園。山地宜在南、東南坡建園,不宜在風口、山脊突出地、山谷冷空氣沉積地或低洼地建園。土壤為排水良好的砂質壤土或改良后的紅黃壤土,有機質含量1.5%以上。
3.2 肥水管理
結果前的幼齡樹薄肥勤施,新種植樹在第一次新梢老化、第二次新梢長出后方可進行施肥,2—10月每隔2個月施肥1次,株施0.2%~0.3%尿素、0.1%~0.2%復合肥(氮、磷、鉀質量比為15∶15∶15)的水溶性肥3~5 kg;9—10月,結合深翻改土施有機肥1次,株施腐熟廄肥30~50 kg。結果樹春季2月下旬至3月上旬,株施0.5~0.75 kg高鉀復合肥;4月初每株可追施0.5~0.75 kg硫酸鉀,促進果實膨大;夏季采果后選用以氮為主、輔以磷鉀的速效肥,株施0.75~1.00 kg高氮型復合肥、0.2 kg尿素和2~4 kg餅肥;秋季9月中下旬,株施商品有機肥或腐熟農家肥30~50 kg,盛花期株施0.5~0.75 kg高氮復合肥,延長開花時間。
3.3 整形修剪
一般采用分層形,留主干高度40~60 cm,層間距50~80 cm,每層留主枝3~4個,3~4 a可形成樹冠;修剪主要疏除過密枝、交叉枝、下垂枝。
3.4 疏花疏果與套袋
花蕾期疏除弱小花穗,保留1/3的營養枝。3月下旬進行第1次疏果,一般1個果穗留6個果,4月上中旬后進行第2次疏果,一般按果穗粗壯程度留2~4個果,疏果后采用內黑外黃果袋進行套袋防止鳥類與日灼。
3.5 病蟲害防治
加強肥水管理,培養健康強壯樹體,開春前注意清園與地面樹體殺菌。花期11月至翌年1月每月噴施1次殺菌劑防治花腐病;春季疏果后噴一次殺蟲與殺菌劑,采后防天牛、黃毛蟲與擬木蠹蛾等枝干害蟲。
