瑞典企業社會責任組織在6月11-12日主持董事會會議和國家層面合作組織會議

6月11-12日,瑞典企業社會責任組織在斯德哥爾摩主持了歐洲企業社會責任協會董事會會議和國家層面合作組織會議。這是董事會會議第一次在布魯塞爾以外召開,這也是歐洲企業社會責任協會新戰略的組成部分,即在歐洲的主要城市每年召開兩次董事會會議,以便與地方成員和合作組織保持密切的聯系。國家層面的合作者組織與來自企業界的代表非正式的交換了他們進一步加強合作的期望和想法。

ISO 26000的進展情況

CSR Sweden Hosts Board of Directors and National Partners Meeting, 11-12 June

On 11-12 June, CSR Sweden kindly hosted a CSR Europe Board of Directors meeting and National Partner Organisation meeting in Stockholm. This was the first time that a Board meeting was held outside of Brussels as part of a new strategy for the Board to convene twice a year in a major European city in order to have the ability to connect with local members and partners.

KOVET Joins CSR Europe’s National Partner Network

CSR Europe welcomes the Hungarian Association for Environmentally Aware Management (KOVET) as the newest member of its National Partner Organisation network. Established in October 1995, KOVET is an association to promote environmentally aware business management towards enterprises.

Call for Solutions for the European MarketPlace on CSR 2007

The Call for Solutions for the third European MarketPlace on CSR will be launched by the end of June. At the MarketPlace on CSR on 29 November in Brussels, members of CSR Europe and national partner organisations will share their top CSR solutions in an informal, exchange-driven and creative environment. The deadline for submitting solutions is 19 September 2007.

ISO 26000——State of Play

In a CSR Europe conference call on 19 June,Ms Marie D’Huart, Belgian delegate for ISO 26000, presented the state of play of ISO 26000, and addressed some key questions from CSR Europe member companies.The guidelines, due to be finalised in 2009, are aimed at all kinds of organisations, including not only multinational corporations, but also NGOs, public sector and SMEs.

Climate Savers Initiative Sets Ambitious Targets for Energy-Efficient Computing

Intel and Google joined with Dell, EDS, the Environmental Protection Agency, HP, IBM, Lenovo, Microsoft, PGE, World Wildlife Fund and more than 25 additional organisations have announced a new Climate Savers Computing Initiative. The goal of the broad-based environmental effort is to save energy and reduce greenhouse gas emissions by setting aggressive new targets for energy-efficient computers and components, and promoting the adoption of energy-efficient computers and power management tools worldwide.

Nissan Speaks Out on Diversity at Work

Nissan Motor Company presented Nissan’s diversity practices at the workplace within the context of Japan's corporate environment at the 2007 Global Summit of Women held in Berlin on 14-16 June. Ms Yukiko Yoshimaru, general manager of Nissan's Diversity Development Office, highlighted Nissan’s commitment to diversity and also drew on some of the key learnings and synergies derived from the Renault-Nissan Alliance that has benefited Nissan's diversity efforts.

歐盟發起清潔天空運動

美國市長

EU Launches Clean Sky Initiative

The European Union unveiled itsClean Sky Joint Technology Initiative at the Paris Air Show on June 20. The US$2.2 billion public-private initiative is a seven-year partnership that plans to cut aircraft noise by 50 percent, carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions by 40 percent, and nitrous oxide 60 percent by 2015. Clean Sky will focus on six projects, including producing greener engines, more efficient wing design and using lighter materials.

Companies Ranked on Climate Stance

A new non-profit consumer advocate group, Climate Counts, has released a ranking of 56 consumer goods companies based on their performance in adding to or ameliorating climate change. The scorecard takes into account how the companies measure their own emissions, the plans they have to reduce them, their stance on regulation, and their level of transparency on these activities.

Companies Tap Clean Energy from Landfills

Waste Management Inc., the largest operator of landfills in the United States, will accelerate tapping gas from rotting garbage to generate clean power from 60 landfills over five years. The company will spend $400 million to bring turbines to the dumps, boosting its power generation from such projects to 700 megawatts of power a year -- enough power for about 700,000 homes.

Brazilian Company to Produce“Green” Plastic

Following a US$5 million RD effort, Brazilian petrochemical company Braskem S.A. has developed a high-density polyethylene based on ethanol derived from sugar cane. The new product has been certified as based on 100-percent renewable raw material by Beta Analytic Inc.

EU Ministers Struggle Over Car Emission Rules

European Union nations struggled on Thursday to lay out a plan for rules that would force steep cuts in car emissions without distorting competition between makers of bigger and smaller vehicles in the bloc. Environment ministers reaffirmed support for legislation to force carmakers to cut carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions from new cars to an average of 130 grams of CO2 per kilometre across the fleet by 2012 through improved engine technology.

U.S. Mayors Take on Big Water

At the 75th annual U.S. Conference of Mayors last week, San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom announced a ban on bottle water and the nation's mayors passed Resolution No. 90 to study the impact of bottled water on city waste. Newsom announced he would be signing an executive order banning San Francisco officials and contractors from purchasing bottled water with city funds when tap water was also available.

British Companies to Blame for Recruitment Crisis

A UK survey of 42,000 managers revealed a 50-percent increase in the number of managers who resigned their jobs last year to seek employment elsewhere.
