考生若僅運用基礎的詞匯和基本的句型,還不能體現出較強的語言運用能力,即使表達無語法錯誤,也很難得高分;相反,考生若恰當使用了復雜結構或較高級詞匯,即使有些許錯誤,也能得高分。那么,哪些是復雜結構?
一、用詞高級
例:年初:湖南、貴州等地大雪災,經濟損失慘重。
At the beginning of the year, a heavy snowstorm hit Hunan, Guizhou and several other provinces, causing a severe economic loss.
二、分詞短語
例:校園西南角/ 面積1000平方米。
Located at the southwest corner of our school, the botanical garden has an area of 1000 square metres.
三、各類從句
例:一個半小時的自行車車程后, 我們到達了紅十字醫院,那里住著艾滋患兒。
After one and a half hours’ ride, we got to the Red Cross Hospital, where the AIDS children are staying.
例:我們回之前給他們贈送了禮物,拍照留念和共進午餐。
We presented them gifts, took photos and had lunch together before we came back.
四、with短語
例:由于那噪音的持續,我無法繼續學習。
With the noise going on, I couldn’t go on studying.
例:隨著“世界環境日”的到來,我校學生會將舉行以環保為主題的演講比賽。
With World Environment Day approaching, the Students’ Union is going to organize/hold an English-speaking contest, the theme of which/whose theme/of which the theme is: “Protect our environment and save our energy”.
五、倒裝結構
1. only+狀語(含狀語從句)
例:只有這樣我們才能建立一個和諧的社會。
Only in this way can we build a harmonious society.
例:只有到19世紀末射擊才發展成為一項體育運動。
Only in the late 19th century did shooting develop into a sport.
2. not only...but also...
例:運動不但有助于強身健體,還能使你放松。
Not only can sports help to build up our bodies/ strength, but they can also make us relaxed.
例:行程:了解中國學生的校園生活、參觀廣州的著名景點、體驗當地文化。
During the visit, not only did they know about the school life of Chinese students but they also visited famous attractions in Guangzhou. Besides, they experienced the local culture.
例:美化校園、研究植物場所、休閑之地
Not only does it beautify our school campus but it is also used as a place for studying plants and relaxing.
3. not until... did sb do...
例:直到我們完成所有的活動我們才回到學校。
Not until we finished all the activities did we come back to school.
例:直到1932年射擊才重回奧運會。
Not until 1932 did shooting return to the Olympic Games.
4. so+形容詞+助動詞/be+主語+that...
例:植物園很大,觀賞至少需要一小時。
So big is the garden that it will take you at least one hour to explore the garden.
例:追星后果:迷失自我、荒廢學業等。
So addicted are they to star-worshipping that they don’t know what to do and spoil their study.
六、強調句型
例:直到她摘下眼鏡她父親才認出她。
It was not until she took off her glasses that her father recognized her.
例:有一句名言說得好,“熟能生巧”。它的意思就是不斷的練習使我們能有效地做好事情,尤其是學外語。
A famous saying goes that “Practice Makes Perfect”. It means it is constant practice that enables us to do something efficiently, esp. learning a foreign language.
例:廣州印象:潔凈的市容、友善的學生、美味的食品。
After the visit, they said it was the tidy city, friendly students and tasty food that impressed them deeply.
七、虛擬語氣
例:假如我是該校校長,我會不遺余力地教育好違紀學生,而不是懲罰他們。
If I were the headmaster, I would spare no effort to teach the troublesome students patiently instead of suspending them.
例:如果曾子沒有把豬殺掉,他的孩子就會認為他的父母是不可靠的。
If Zeng Zi hadn’t killed the pig, his child would have thought his parents weren’t reliable.
例:政府必須采取措施解決農民工子女讀書的問題了。
Obviously, it is high time that the government took some measures to solve the problem of migrant children’s education.
