Analysis of related factors about the possibility of thyroid disease after chronic hepatitis patients treated with peg-IFN and ribavirin

【Abstract】Objective To research the changes of thyroid function amony chronic hepatitis of normal thyroid function after treated with peg-IFN and ribavirin. Methods Collecting information of 103 patients who are chronic hepatitis C occursed thyroid function abnormal after treated with peg-IFN from January，2009 to October，2012 in the hospital. Monitoring of thyroid function and thyroid antibodys levels， before treatment and after treatment every 3 months. Results Thyroid function of all patients are normal before treated with PEG-IFN. 32 casess Antithyroglobulin antibody is abnormal （32/103，31.07%）； 19 casess thyromicrosomal antibody is abnormal （19/103，18.4%）. After one year， Thyroid function of 92 are still normal； Typerthyroidism is 5， 4 amony them are improved after endocrinotherapy； one is abandoned. Thyroid hypofunction is 6，4 amony them are subclinical hypothyroidism which already be cured with Levothyroxine. Conclusion The incidence of thyroid diseases in the chronic hepatitis of normal thyroid function was 10.7% （11/103）， after using interferon therapy； so thyroid function is not the factors of continuing to treat. Follow-up of 1 year after treatment， thyroid function of all patients return to normal. The female is easier to happen thyroid disease after treated with peg-IFN than males.
