The Song of The Phoenix

The aim of this essay is to write about a Chinese idiom，which is called “A hundred birds paying homage to the Phoenix”.The idiom appeared in the book Tai Ping Yu Lan，which was written by Li Fang.It originally means the Emperor has own a great reputation for loving and caring his people，and now represents that a man can not be judged by his appearance，nor can the water in the sea be measured by a bucket.Thats to say，no matter who you are，you would be respected by people for hardworking and helpful behaviors.To tell this traditional story to audience audiences as novels，TV series，and movies are interesting ways.

For one of the film，the story was adapted into a novel of the same name “The Song of The Phoenix” about the Chinese traditional instrument Suona，after that，the novel was adapted into a film.In the film，it has many Chinese folk musicians，and also the most impressive version.The film is called “Song of the Phoenix”.Tianming Wu directs it and it focuses on the old Suona artist，Jiao Sanye.He is respectable and is good at Suona.He leads his students to inherit the spirit of Suona with persistent enthusiasm and firm belief.In this story，Jiao Sanye is like the Phoenix，he leads his students to inherit the Chinese folk instrument.The song he teaches them is called “Song of The Phoenix”，a piece of classical Chinese music traditionally played on the Suona.I think this is a very nice film，it seems that it is totally different with the original story，but when the audience have already see the film，they will find that the story is filled of the movie，and they will know some deeper thoughts from this film.A true teacher will devote his life to the students unreservedly and selflessly，and the true students will be educated in humility，and instructors will be taught to prosper at any cost，regardless of personal gain or loss.

This film also reflects the difficulties of learning an art，warning that we should protect the art of extinction，generations of artists have worked hard to pass them down，can not live up to their painstaking efforts.But the reality shows that the times have failed their efforts，because the times are constantly progressing，never-ending.However，times are evolving，people are changing，when some people do not have their own ideas，what others like，what they like.It is because of these people，Chinas traditional culture will decline.However，this is also inevitable，in a sense，these people have promoted the development of Chinese culture.If everyone were to guard the old traditions like Jiao，we might still be alive in primitive times，or we would be destroyed.It is innovation to promote the times，and Suona，but also that era of innovation.Why do traditional artists works so hard to keep the old style alive？ In my opinion，nowadays，most of new artists just want to pursue new trends but forget the essence that people left us before.This leads that the traditional art has been gradually forgotten，only the old artists still stick to them.It is immoral to give up old art.

Unlike the Suona，the film has not been in decline for years，but more and more popular.However，the similarity is that，the culture is no longer valued by the filmmakers，the market，the box office，the star is the focus of this era，and Tianmings film in this environment also seems trite and not the inflow.This is the same as the reason I want to adapt this story.Now people pay less and less attention to culture，following blindly to the elements of the trend，and traditional culture gradually fades out of peoples lives.

Chinese historical culture contains countless myths，which are waiting for us to explore.We should put aside a part of the chase of the modern trend，and review the history and traditional culture.Finally，writing this essay，the biggest harvest to me is that I learned a lot of knowledge of learning some interesting Chinese historical stories，but also to learn some sprits of the great inheritors of culture and art.
