“方法”不同，搭配有別

2019高考英語全國Ⅰ卷中的63題：

Modern methods________tracking polar bear populations have been employed only since the mid-1980s，and are expensive to perform consistently over a large area.”

意思是“跟蹤北極熊的數量的現代方法”，按常規理解，這并不是難題，因為表示“……的”，用of。但高考結束后幾天，剛好和幾位學生在一起，他們的英語成績平時都是頂呱呱的，在詢問他們核對答案的時候發現有兩個女生在這一題上載跟頭了，竟然填上了to。看來有必要把學過的“方法”進行總結。

考綱中表示“方法”的詞有way ， method， solution， approach， means， manner等。

1. way和means接of doing或to do都可以。如：

Is there any way of contacting you while youre in Africa？你在非洲期間有什么辦法和你聯系嗎？

The students are learning new ways to communicate in writing. 學生們正在學習新的寫作交流方式。

We have no means of knowing how they will react. 我們無法知道他們會作何反應。

We will use every possible means to achieve our objective. 我們將使用一切可能的手段來實現我們的目標。

2. solution和approach都接介詞to。

She came up with a novel solution to the problem. 她想出了一個解決問題的新奇的辦法。

Your approach to teaching differs nothing from hers. 你的教學方法同她的教學方法并無不同之處。

3. method接of或for都可以。如：

Vaccination is one of the most effective methods for preventing disease. 接種疫苗是預防疾病最有效的方法之一。

This is the best method of settling such arguments. 這是解決此類爭論的最佳方法。

除了上述5種“方法 ”外，在閱讀中常見的“方法”還有technique“技巧，技能”;strategy“策略”等。“方法”何其多，需要多積累，重在反復甄別，及時歸納總結方法，辦法總比困難多。
