Effect and mechanism of Huanglong Cough Granules combined with budesonide on children with asthmatic bronchitis

[Abstract] Objective To explore the therapeutic effect of Huanglong Cough Granules combined with budesonide on children with asthmatic bronchitis， and to explore the mechanism of drug treatment. Methods A total of 96 children with asthmatic bronchitis admitted to our hospital between January 2019 and July 2020 were selected as the study subjects. According to the random number table method， the subjects were divided into the control group and the study group， with 48 children in each group. Patients in the control group were given budesonide aerosol inhalation treatment， while patients in the study group were given budesonide aerosol inhalation treatment combined with taking Huanglong Cough Granules orally. The effective rates， disappearance time of clinical symptoms， changes of serum inflammatory factors before and after treatment， and incidences of adverse reactions during treatment were compared between the two groups. Results The effective rate of the study group was 95.83%， which was higher than that of 83.33% in the control group， and the difference was statistically significant （P<0.05）. The disappearance time of clinical symptoms in the study group was shorter than that in the control group， and the difference was statistically significant （P<0.05）. Before treatment， there was no significant difference of CRP，TNF-α，IL-6? and IL-10 levels between the two groups （P>0.05）. After treatment， the levels of CRP， TNF-α， IL-6 and IL-10 in the study group were lower than those in the control group， and the differences were statistically significant （P<0.05）. The total incidence of adverse reactions in the study group was 4.17%， which was similar to that of 2.08% in the control group， and the difference was not statistically significant（P>0.05）. Conclusion In the treatment of children with asthmatic bronchitis， the application of Huanglong Cough Granules combined with budesonide can enhance the clinical efficacy， shorten the rehabilitation time， and lower the level of inflammatory factors in children. This treatment is safe and worth promotion.
