Application of TCM theory of preventive treatment in the prevention and treatment of chronic fatigue syndrome

[Abstract] Objective To analyze the effect of applying the TCM theory of preventive treatment in the clinical treatment of chronic fatigue syndrome （CFS）. Methods Forty-six patients with chronic fatigue syndrome admitted to our hospital from April 2018 to October 2019 were selected as subjects and were randomly divided into the control group and the observation group， with 23 patients in each group. The control group was given conventional drug therapy， while the observation group was given conventional drug therapy combined with the TCM preventive treatment scheme， and the difference in efficacy between the groups was analyzed. Results After treatment， the levels of IgG （10.95±1.01） g/L， IgA （1.97±0.52） g/L and IgM （1.41±0.43） g/L in the observation group were higher than those in the control group， which were （9.98±1.15） g/L， （1.79±0.49） g/L and （1.27±0.36） g/L respectively （P<0.05）. The FAI score of the observation group was （91.16±10.28） points， which was lower than that of the control group as （99.04±9.83） points （P<0.05）. The Pittsburgh sleep quality index （PSQI） score of the observation group was （5.69±4.12） points， which was lower than that of the control group as （7.70±4.50） points （P<0.05）. After treatment， the physical role score was （67.20±10.39） points， physiological function （70.13±10.24） points， emotional function （71.42±12.57） points， energy （75.76±13.23） points， social function （85.91±11.74） points， mental health （75.70±13.18） points， health status （69.84±10.46） points and body pain （65.52±7.56） points in the observation group， which were higher than those in the control group [which were （60.44±11.32）， （62.76±9.27）， （61.50±13.5）， （68.53±14.25）， （78.65±12.96）， （65.41±14.36）， （64.12±11.17） and （58.29±8.83） points respectively] （P<0.05）. Conclusion The application of TCM theory of preventive treatment in the treatment of chronic fatigue syndrome is effective.
