If you look at the logos of the top supermarkets in the United States, they all have one thing in common:red.Red is the most common colour in supermarket brands and logos.But why is red best?

Colour psychologists（心理學(xué)家）report that the colour red increases a person’s appetite.You may not be aware of being hungry,but red does stimulate appetite.Experts say this is because many nutritious（有營(yíng)養(yǎng)的）fruits and vegetables are red.If supermarket shoppers see red and feel hungry while they shop, they will buy more.So advertisers understand that red is good for business.According to studies, red also quickly attracts a person’s attention.In addition,it makes a person excited and increases the heart rate.Using red helps supermarkets communicate that they are energetic, positive places to shop.For these reasons, red is a perfect colour for a supermarket brand.It is a subtle but legal（合法的）method for influencing customers.

A recent trend,however,has resulted in a new colour for supermarket logos and brands.With the increasing demand for organic（有機(jī)的）foods, new natural foods supermarkets have become popular.They sell natural ingredients and healthy food products.These supermarkets are using green in their logos, not red.This is because the colour green reminds people of nature, a clean environment, and healthy foods.Natural food supermarkets make sure that customers are aware of how healthy their products are.By choosing green for the logo,the company creates a specific image and identity.

Green can give you energy.We can take a walk in the park to see the green trees and grass.Green is colour on nature and makes me comfortable.

Sometimes, health problems make me sad.However, I have discovered that the colour red can cheer me up.When I see red pictures,I often feel cheerful.They make me have enough confidence to face all the problems.
