英國高等網絡教育研究的現狀及啟示

摘要 在世界網絡教育領域里,英國網絡教育應用的研究一直位居世界前列,其研究內容穩居于網絡教育應用研究的前沿。如今,它憑借靈活高效的課程體系以及出色的教學質量躋身于世界網絡教育領域的前列。主要以牛津大學的網絡教育研究為案例,闡述英國高等網絡教育研究的現狀,介紹其先進成果,為推進我國網絡教育應用的順利發展提供參考。

Abstract In the fields of the Network Education in the world, the research of applies in Network Education in Britain has been ranked the world, its contents of research have been steadily at the forefront of research of applies in Network Education. Today, it has been the forefront of the field of the worldwide Network Education with its flexible and efficient courses system and excellent teaching. In this paper, it takes Network Education in Oxford University as a case to explain the present status of Network Research in higher education in Britain, draws on the advanced achievements of Network Education Research in Britain, thus promotes the successful development of the Network Education application in China.

1 英國高等網絡教育研究的現狀——以牛津大學為案例

英國牛津大學(University of Oxford)位于英國牛津市,是英語世界最古老的大學,它有著800多年的歷史和39所獨立自我管理類學院。牛津大學的網絡教育也居世界前列,“2004年英國大學指南”中給出最佳教學得分的大學排名表,牛津大學榮列第六名[1]。

牛津大學在使用因特網進行教學、研究和圖書館管理方面處于領先地位。牛津大學的網絡課程資源比較豐富,位居世界前列。進入牛津大學網站可以看到“繼續教育”“網絡課程”“Weblearn”“圖書館”等教學資源。

繼續教育學院便是該校最大的院系,每年都吸引著15 000多人從世界各地前來就讀。與中國略有不同的是,學員的年齡跨度更大,許多課程為職業教育。牛津大學的遠程網上教育發展也很迅速,目前主要分為短期、長期以及網上職業教學。短期教學為10周,長期教學為2年,職業教學也為10周[2]。該學校正在制定一個被廣泛認可的、本科層次的、為期10周的網絡課程,目前主要包括考古學、藝術史、英語文學、哲學共4門課程。……
