We seldom think of it. The days stretch out in an endless vista. So we go about our petty tasks， hardly aware of our listless attitude toward life.

I have often thought it would be a blessing if each human being were stricken blind and deaf for a few days at some time during his early adult life. Darkness would make him more appreciative of sight; silence would teach him the joys of sound.

An emerging line of research suggests that relationships can keep us healthier. And a new study finds those social connections may also help us live longer.

This new study combined a large number of previous studies and concluded that a lack of social interactions ranks right up with smoking， obesity， and alcoholism as a risk factor for death.

Researchers analyzed 148 studies with a total of some 300，000 participants， tracking their social relationships and whether they survived to the end of their particular study， which averaged about seven years.

Professor Julianne Holt-Lunstad， one of the authors of the study， said，“Those who scored higher on those measures of social relationships were 50 percent more likely to be alive at that follow-up than people who scored low on those measures.”

Wang Yang， the leader of Guangdong Province， proposed the goal of happiness for its government instead of the pursuit of GDP growth， which won approval from the society. And the government still needs to work hard.

The passage mainly tells us that more and more netizens in China like Shi Fang buy goods on the Internet， among which Taobao is the largest online shopping site.

Almost two months ago， I wanted to buy my mother a birthday present， but I didn’t have much time to go shopping. I surfed the Internet and found a pink handbag which I thought would fit my mother perfectly. I paid and received it seven days later. To my delight， my mother liked it very much.

There is no doubt that shopping online has some advantages. First of all， it’s quite convenient to shop online for we needn’t go from one shop to another， so we can save lots of time. In addition， shopping online is also cheaper and more colorful to us and the Internet provides us with the goods coming in all shapes， sizes and colors， which can meet our demands. ６. 電子報紙收費

The news report mainly tells us that due to a steep drop in print advertising， the New York Times will start charging people for reading over 20 articles on its website， hoping to bring in more revenue.

Generally， I surf the Internet in my spare time to get in touch with the outside world. With the computer or mobile phone on， I almost know about everything that I want: news， jokes， tips... ， whatever.

People hold different opinions on whether digital fees should be charged. Some think it reasonable for a newspaper to charge digital fees because we should respect and pay for others’ hard work. And besides， charging digital fees is necessary if a newspaper is to survive. However， others hold the opposite view， thinking that there are too many ways to get update news and they are unwilling to pay any money to read digital newspapers.

Personally， I am willing to pay to read newspapers on online， especially such good ones as the New York Times， China Daily and so on， as I think it’s a good way to help good media survive and develop.

From the passage we know that experts did some researches on how relationships with family and friends affect health. Good relationships with family and friends can even lengthen people’s life.

It’s true that family and friends are very important. In the daily life， if meeting with any difficulty， we can talk to them and may be helped out. Without family or friends， we would feel embarrassed when meeting with troubles or needing help.

Family and friends can also bring us happiness and joy. When free， we can gather to enjoy the spare time and have fun with each other. Of course， we should treat each other well and build a friendly relation between us.

We should also keep in touch with our family and friends， otherwise， no relationships can be maintained. Only by living in harmony can we be healthy and even enjoy a longer life.

８. 安全教育

To have first-hand experience in evacuating their buildings and know more about public safety knowledge， all the teachers and students must attend the yearly fire safety training on 6th November 2011.

In our school， the students and teachers can receive the public safety education. Sometimes students get the safety knowledge through the lectures given by the firefighters， or students can attend the safety training. The students also watch safety videos.

Last Friday， our school organized an evacuation drill. All the teachers and the students attended it. After hearing the alarm， we immediately evacuated our dormitory with the help of the firefighters and get together at the school play ground far away from tall buildings. After every training， we can get more safety knowledge or experience.

As far as I am concerned， it is very necessary to have the safety education. If we do more training， we will have more safety opportunities in case of fire or any other accidents.

The author got all the pecans from a squirrel’s hiding place， but his grandpa told him not to steal others’ fruit of work， and the author did the right thing.

I appreciate what the author chose to do in the end. It is pleasing that a six-year-old was willing to do the right thing.

In my school， some students may try to download some keys from the internet to some questions on the paper， using their mobile phones. In an examination last term， one of my schoolmates managed to do that. Though he wasn’t caught on the spot， the teachers found the words of his answers were exactly the same as the reference version. Obviously， he got the punishment， after which he never felt happy with the school life because everybody regarded him as a dishonest boy.

Thus， we shouldn’t get what the other people work hard to get without paying or being permitted. Working harder to get our own fruit will be another better choice.

The writer mainly talks about the topic “Destiny”， which is commonly believed in by many people. In his opinion， everything is not decided by destiny， more importantly， it’s people’s attitude and character that affect their life.

In fact， I can’t agree more with the writer’s view. It is people’s attitude and character that really have a great effect on their future life.

Here is an example. Betty was a poor girl whose parents always thought that it was no use sending a girl to receive education. Because of her parents’ opinion on education， she had to drop out of school. However， she not only went to work and made money for her family to meet her parents’ desire but also borrowed a lot of books and taught herself. Gradually， her knowledge and abilities were greatly improved due to her diligence. Now she has set up a company of her own and it makes lots of profits， which makes many people can’t believe their eyes.

1１. 對愛的體會

The story mainly tells us that a girl’s father showed his love by giving flowers for her birthdays， graduations and so on. It reminds us of the great value and power of love.

Love is a great power， it not only can warm our heart and give us courage to face all kinds of difficulties we meet in our daily life， it can also be passed from one to many other people. Without parents’ love， we can’t be someone in this wonderful world. Without our teachers’ love， we can’t achieve any great success. Without our friends’ love， we can’t be the same person as I am.

The girl’s father’s roses remind me of one of my childhood experiences. When I was young， my family was poor. But my mother was a genius to keep a roof above our head， with all kinds of foods on our table. While we prefer meat， my mother said she prefer vegetables. despite the slim income of our family， we always had enough to eat， and warm clothes to wear. We are grateful to our parents for their love.

As the saying goes， “Where there is love， there is hope.” Love can be passed from one another. Our parents’ love can well-support a family and our love can also well-support our society.

12. 食品安全

Another food scandal happened since several cases of the food scandal over the past few years. Shuanghui Group expressed a deep apology for the incident after an illegal additive was reportedly found in some of its pork products.

With the food scandals appearing one after another， the problem of food security has become a hot button across society. Why do these incidents happen so frequently？

There are a couple of driving forces， I believe. First of all， it’s the urgent demand for quantities of cheap food that causes it. Secondly， it’s the lack of public consciousness and responsibility that is the most dangerous breeding ground for food safety. Without enough public consciousness， food safety will always be a problem in China. Last but not least， it is mainly because the government failed to check efficiently.

In my opinion， the government should launch a massive moral campaign to educate all citizens and draw up tougher laws to crack down on those irresponsible corporations and prohibit them from entering the food industry again. I am firmly convinced that through combined efforts we are bound to enjoy more risk-free foods in the days ahead.
