高三的第一輪復習持續的時間長,通常是整個上學期甚至延續到下學期開學后,主要將高一、高二學過的基礎知識進行鞏固和梳理,很是乏味。學生早已學過了課文,新鮮感喪失殆盡,導致在復習時不愿意再看課文,認為只要掌握了復習資料上的基礎知識就可以了。其實教材中含有豐富的信息,是復習的寶藏。我校選用的北師大版高中英語課本,詞匯量豐富,選材精當,話題貼近高中學生的學習和生活。近年來,我對照新課程標準和考試說明,堅持挖掘利用教材來組織高三的第一輪復習,教學收效顯著。
一、將課文變成語法填空題
廣東省英語高考自2007年開始實行自主命題,考題中以往傳統的單項填空改為了語法填空,旨在將語法在單句層面的考查提升為語篇層面的考查,對于中下層的學生來說難度較大。學生剛接觸這一題型時很茫然,對解題的方法一知半解。如果將他們已經學過的具有代表性的課文文段,改成符合高考要求的語法填空題型,不僅能增加課文的新鮮感,也能讓學生在掌握課本基礎的同時了解這一新題型的解題方法。我在引導學生復習北師大版教材Module 1 Unit 6 Lesson 3時,發現這篇課文有較多定語從句。于是我將該課文進行了改編,重點設置了關于定語從句用法的幾個空。
Chen Zijiang is a paper-cutting expert 1 . I interviewed hin for my article on Chinese Art. 二、聯系基礎寫作和讀寫任務題型復習課文
讀寫任務要求“根據短文內容用約30個詞概括短文的內容”,不僅有字數限制,還要求學生概括的內容必須和下面要寫的內容銜接起來。在第一輪復習中,課本無疑是這個題型很好的入門訓練資料。如必修模塊4第10單元的Lesson 1和Lesson 3,我發現Lesson 1很適合改成5句話作文。這是一篇人物訪談,在改寫的過程中還能引發學生思考如何正確對待金錢以及怎樣的人生才是幸福的。Lesson 3則很適合改編成一篇讀寫任務,學生在改寫的過程中還可以思考如何花自己的錢,讓自己的錢變得有意義。
課堂上,我讓學生重讀Lesson 1,并嘗試用5句話寫一篇關于Charles Gray的文章。要點如下:(1)Charles Gray曾是一個百萬富翁,但現在沒有任何跡象表明他曾是一個有錢人。(2)他看到世界上還有很多饑餓的人,于是他選擇了放棄富人的生活方式。(3)他只為自己留下了2000美元,其余的錢都捐給了慈善機構。(4)他發現自己沒有失去很多東西,只有一點錢反而使他少了煩惱、多了很多自由。(5)他覺得正是他的決定為他帶來了幸福。
范文:Charles Gray used to be a millionaire but now there are no signs that he was a rich man. He made the choice to give up the lifestyle of a rich man, because he found there were still a lot of hungry people in the world. He only had 2000 dollars left for himself, and gave away the rest of his money to the charity. Strangely, he found there weren’t any things he missed, while having only a little money made him free. He thought it was his choice that brought him happiness.
然后,我讓學生閱讀Lesson 3 “Your money”,按要求寫一篇150詞左右的英語短文。要求如下:(1)以約30個詞概括文章要點。(2)以約120個詞談談你如何使用錢,內容包括:現在社會上人們用錢的各種方式,并簡要談談你的看法;假如你是個百萬富翁,你覺得如何使用你的錢更有意義。
三、聽課文錄音完成對課文挖空部分的填寫
聽取信息題型對學生詞匯量的要求有了很大的提高,很多學生對于課文的新單詞和新用法的拼讀都沒有過關,所以在做聽力練習的時候很難反應過來。我將課文中出現的本單元重要單詞和用法的段落進行挖空,讓學生在上課前幾分鐘,通過聽課文錄音完成填空。這樣的聽力訓練文段不宜太長,且在設空時一定要注意難易結合的原則,以免學生失去信心。
如模塊5第13單元的第6段很適合進行聽力訓練,我將它改編如下:
