Saving Money or Spending Tomorrow’s Money

Chinese are normally believed to be thrifty.However，economic development has had a tremendous impact upon Chinese society，uprooting the long-engraved ideas.With the emergence of the credit cards，spending tomorrow’s money becomes a reality.In this way，people are in dilemma：saving money or spending tomorrow’s money.Firstly，this paper focuses on the benefits of spending tomorrow’s money.Secondly，it shows that spending tomorrow’s money is confronted with many challenges.Finally，the paper comes up with some suggestions to solve these problems. 一、The Benefits of Spending Tomorrow’s Money

Firstly，spending tomorrow’s money via credit cards can help us live a well-to-do life.There is a famous story about two ladies— one is American and the other is Chinese.The American lady chooses to spend tomorrow’s money，so she could enjoy the capacious house and could consume something she likes.Before she dies，she has paid off all her loans，and she claims that she has had a happy life.However，the Chinese lady saves money throughout her life and lives a hard life.When she dies，though she has enough money to enjoy life，she hasn’t have time to do it.In this case，who won’t want to be an American lady?

What’s more，spending tomorrow’s money is conducive to the economical increase of our country.To some extent，spending tomorrow’s money encourages people to work hard，so they can earn more money to afford their all kinds of expenses，which will drive forward our economy.

二、Spending Tomorrow’s Money Is Confronted with Some Challenges

With the increasingly development of credit cards in China，we can tell that more and more people are embracing the idea of spending tomorrow’s money.However，buying now and paying later is confronted with some challenges.Here are three reasons.

Firstly，the value of thrift in Chinese culture has a great influence on Chinese，so they prefer saving money to using credit cards to spend tomorrow’s money.For instance，a survey reflects this kind of phenomenon.“The average outstanding balance of revolving credit cards in China today is only $111.By contrast，the average U.S.household carries $7519 in revolving debt.People are somewhat cautious on the mainland”.Secondly，the credit card is the basic tool of spending tomorrow’s money.However，the development of the credit cards faces many problems，so some people refuse to use them and finally say “no” to spending tomorrow’s money.For instance，credit card market is not standardized，which has lead to many financial risks.In order to win more customers，banks pay great attention to card issuing quantity index，ignoring the use rate index，which give rise to the market demand bubble.Finally，at present，China isn’t rather prosperous and people’s wages are limited，so people aren’t confident in spending tomorrow’s money.

三、Advice on Helping Us Better to Spend Tomorrow’s Money by Using Credit Cards

In order to make credit cards better service for us，the government，banks and consumers should take pains to deal with problems brought by the inappropriate use of credit cards.

First，the government should stimulate the stable increase of economy in our country.If so，people will feel confident about their future and would like to spend tomorrow’s money.Then，the government should shoulder the responsibility of supervising the banks and consumers.Lastly，the legislatures are supposed to lay down and improve relevant laws and regulations.

Second，the banks should scrutiny peoples’ information carefully，improve the quality of service，and create useful methods to spur people to spend tomorrow’s money in a rational way.

Third，individuals are supposed to consume in a rational way.People should work hard to earn enough money to pay for debt on time.What’s more，they should take the initiative to grasp the knowledge of using credit cards.

The analysis above，therefore，can safely lead to the conclusion that it’s a sensible choice for us to use credit cards，even though spending tomorrow’s money is still facing some challenges.However，only by using credit cards in a rational way can we better enjoy our life.
