課堂用語是教師組織課堂教學活動時所使用的語言,是課堂教學成功的保證之一。準確規范的課堂用語對學生具有示范性、指令性和導向性作用,它能激發學生學習英語的熱情,樹立自信心,充分調動他們參與教學活動的積極性;它能讓學生養成良好的學習習慣,明白要做什么,怎樣做,何時做。本文中我結合自己多年的教學經驗,從以下六個方面來闡述英語課堂話語在教學中的運用。
課堂教學從走進教室的那一刻起就開始了。良好的開端對于一堂課來說非常重要,教師熱情友好地與學生打招呼,不僅可以喚起學生的注意力,為開始上課做好準備,還可以創造一個平等、和諧、愉快的學習氛圍,以保證課堂教學的順利進行,提高課堂效率。例如,問候全班學生:Good moring!Good aftermoon!Hello!How are you?問候遲到的學生:Why are you late?對遲到的學生給予寬容:Never mind!It doesn't matter.對其提出要求和建議:Don't be late again!You should get up earlier!問候生病的學生:What's the matter with you?What's wrong with you?Do you have a cold/headache?并建議:You'd better go to see a doctor.You'd better lie down and rest.Have a good rest and you’ll be better soon.對上節課請病假的學生表示關心:Areyoufeeling bettertoday?1 hopeyouarebetter now.
在師生互動的教學活動中,教師對學生提問時的態度和言語要和藹可親,要尊重學生,不要讓學生感到緊張。例如,鼓勵學生回答問題:Could you please answer this question?If you can,hands up.Would you please have a try?If you can’t,listen to the others carefully.提問單詞拼讀:How do you spell“flower”?提問反義詞:What's the opposite meaning of“dangerous”?提問詞義:Do you know the meaning of this word?What does this word mean?用單詞或詞組造句:Will you please make sentenceswiththis word(phrase)?準確明晰且和藹可親的提問語不僅可以減輕學生的緊張情緒,還可以提高學生的學習積極性和學習興趣。
為提高課堂用語的指示作用,不同的時間、不同的情景、不同的教學內容,教師可以選用不同的課堂話語,還可以結合國家大事、天氣、校園新聞熱點話題來選用不同的課堂用語。下雪了,學生都很興奮,我就問:Whattheweatherliketoday?Do you like snow?Do you want to make a snowman?What kind of weather do you like best?學生的回答多種多樣,還復習了有關天氣描述的詞匯:Rainy days make me sad.Snowy days make me excited.Cloudy days make me disappointed.Windy days make me frightend.Sunny days make me happy.結合仁愛版八年級第三單元教學內容:What's yourhobby?我采用下列話語來導入課堂教學:What's your hobby?What do you like?Can you sing?Can you dance?What kind of music do you like,soft music,rock music,pop music or classical music,etc?What kind of singers do you like,funny,cool,beautiful or handsome?
手勢、眼神、微笑等動作和表情能強化課堂話語的效果。例如,微笑加語言最具感染力,我每天走進教室,微笑著問:Is everyone here today?Did you have a good time yesterday?一下就拉近了師生之間的距離;點頭是一種肯定,當學生回答正確時,我邊點頭邊說:Yes,you are right.這對學生是一種無聲的鼓勵;驚訝的表情可表示贊賞,當學生能夠回答出難度較大的問題時,老師驚訝的表情就是對其最大的肯定;豎起大拇指可表示種高度的贊賞,能增強學生的自信心,獲得成就感;當學生出色完成任務時,老師鼓掌表示贊揚,并號召學生一起鼓掌:Clap your hands!Give him a big hand.掌聲使學生產生成就感,增強自信心。
樹立積極評價的觀念,鼓勵學生創造性地學習,促進學生全面發展。當學生表現良好的時候:You are great!You are very good!You've really done a good job!當學生膽怯、自信心不足時:Come on!Have a try.That’s OK.Don't be shy.No one is perfect.Don’t worry.It doesn’t matter.Don’t be afraid of making mistakes.Take it easy.積極評價能給學生成就感,達到激勵的目的。良言一句三冬暖,惡語傷人六月寒。評價要體現“人本性”,注重培養學生的積極情感。
當課堂教學結束時,教師需向學生宣布下課:Class is over.It's time to stop.Let's stop here.并向學生道別:Goodbye!Bye!Have a nice day/weekend/vacation/Have a good time!Happy New Year!Happy Spring Festival!Happy Mid autumn Day!Enjoy your weekend/vacation!See you again tomorrow/nextweek/later.告別語要讓學生感受到來自老師的關懷、鼓勵和祝福,這樣可對他們完成課后布置的學習任務起到催化劑的作用。
