Dealing with Problems in Life

And so my life went on. Every month I learnt to do or to make something new， but I also had troubles along the way. Once there was a terrible storm with heavy rain. The roof of my cave fell in， and nearly killed me！ I had to build it up again with many pieces of wood.

I had a lot of food now. I cooked it over a fire or dried it under the sun. So I always had enough meat during the rainy months when I could not go out with a gun. I even learnt to make pots to store my food. But my goal was to make a harder， stronger pot-a pot that would not break in a fire. I tried many times， but I could not make it until one day I was lucky. I made some new pots and put them in a very hot fire. They changed colour but remained unbroken. I left them there for many hours， and when they had cooled down， I found that they had become hard and strong. That night I was very happy， as I had hot water for the first time on the island.

By then， I also had my own bread. That was lucky， too. One day I found a little bag. We used it on the ship to store the chickens’ food. There was still some of the food in the bag， and I dropped some of it onto the ground. A month later， I saw something bright green there， and after six months， I had a small cornfield. I was very excited. Perhaps now， I could finally bake my own bread！

It was easier said than done. It is still a lot of work to make bread from corn. Many people eat bread， but how many can take corn from a field and make bread out of it without help？ I had to learn and to make many new things， and it took me a year before I cooked and ate my first bread.

I like writing because it helps me grow.

I was very shy when I was young. I am afraid of speaking in front of others. So no one would make friends with me.

Writing helped me to be a better man. It helped me find my way of expressing myself. I can write freely and share my thoughts and feelings with my parents and my friends this way. I joined the Writing Club， and I made lots of friends there.

Through my life， becoming a writer has always been my dream. It not only enriches my life but also helps me grow.

I used to be a shy person who always felt uncomfortable around others. I had difficulty speaking in front of others， let alone making friend with them. However， things changed when I discovered my true love for writing. It became my voice which helped me express my thoughts and emotions freely. In this way， I was able to make some friends who shared the same interest.

Writing has changed my life for the better. I was no longer the shy little boy I used to be. Writing has opened up many new doors of opportunity for me and has shaped me into the person I am today.

I have problems learning English.

Spoken English is the most difficult problem for me. I am afraid to speak in class，because I think my classmates might laugh at me. Listening is another problem. It isn’t easy for me to understand the teacher. I find remembering the words a hard job， because Chinese is different from English.

Though there are many problems in English learning， I believe that I can do it well if I pay more attention to it.

English has become an important language in our daily lives， making it a crucial course for us.

I have had many difficulties since I started to learn English. Since I’m always quiet and shy， I had a hard time speaking English in front of others at the very beginning. My poor memory also posed additional difficulties when I decided to enlarge my vocabulary. I find it difficult to remember the meaning of words and their correct usage in sentences.

I have spared no efforts in overcoming these difficulties and finally succeeded. For example， I used flashcards to memorize new words and their meanings. I also tried to use new words in sentences and practice spoken English with native English speakers to improve my pronunciation and fluency.

Overall， I’ll keep working hard to improve my English skills and will continue to try my best to overcome all the problems in the process.
