一、 教學背景

《牛津初中英語8B》Unit1"Reading談論的是陽光鎮的變化,其中講到過去有一家鞋廠往河里排放污水,污染了河水,植物和魚都被毒死,近幾年由于政府的治理,環境改善了好多。聯系到我們周圍及全球環境的惡化,專門上了一節活動課,讓學生意識到環境污染的嚴重性和保護環境的迫切性,從而從我做起,并呼吁周圍的人一起共同保護我們的地球!

二、教學思路與目的

通過列舉污染源,讓學生更清楚當前環境的不盡如人意,保護環境刻不容緩,從而使學生增強保護環境的意識。讓他們動腦筋,想辦法,積極討論保護環境的措施,在不知不覺中提高英語語言運用能力。

三、課前準備:給出兩個問題

1.What things can harm the environment?

2.What do you think we should do to improve our environment?

四、 活動過程

T: As we know, there is much pollution in Sunshine Town and there is also much pollution all over the world now. Can you tell me what it is?

( 學生很快地回答。 )

Ss: Water pollution ; Air pollution; Noise pollution … etc.

T: Do you know what causes water pollution?

Ss: Factories dump waste water into rivers and lakes.

T: All the factories?

Ss: No.

T: What factories?

Ss: Paper factories, shoe factories, clothing factories …etc.

T: What else can cause water pollution, too?

Ss: Some people throw rubbish into rivers and lakes.

T: How can we help to solve this problem?

( 學生們分組討論解決辦法。 )

Ss: We can advise the directors of these factories to stop dumping waste water into rivers and lakes.

T: If they don ' t accept your advice ,what else can we do?

( 學生們討論更熱烈了,過了一會兒,他們七嘴八舌地說:)

Ss: 1. We can write a letter to the Green China about it.

2. We can also ask newspaper reporters and TV station reporters to report these factories.

T: There is a paper factory in my hometown .It pours waste water into the river every day. The people in the town drink the water of the river every day. They have advise the leader to stop dumping waste water into the river many times .But he never accepts it. Can you write a letter about it to the Green China?

Ss: Yes .

(給學生幾分鐘時間分組寫這封信,然后選幾封由小組代表朗讀,學生很興奮。)

T: You have told me what causes water pollution and how to solve this problem. You ' re very clever. Thank you very much .But can you tell me what causes air pollution?

Ss: The smoke of factories ,the smoke given out by buses ,cars ,trucks ,motorbikes …etc.

T: Can you think out a way to solve this problem?

( 學生們分組討論解決方案,基礎差的同學也紛紛參與,只不過在用中文說;基礎好的同學在幫他們翻譯。 )

Ss: 1.We can plant more trees on roads.

2.We can ask people not to drive their cars to work.

3.We can ask people to ride bikes to work.

4.We can tell people riding bikes is good for their health. …

T: If their homes are far away from their workplaces, can't they ride bikes to work ?

Ss: No.

T: How can we solve it?

( 學生們興致更高了。你說一句,我說一句。大意是: )

Ss: We can ask the leader of the city to develop the public traffic. Such as adding more buses, building underground. …etc.

T: We have thought out many ways to improve our environment. I will try my best to tell our government that something must be done to make our hometown more beautiful.

(肯定學生的想法,但是,教師接著話鋒一轉,問學生自己有沒有過污染環境的行為以及以后的做法。)

T:By the way, have you ever made any pollution?

Ss: Yes.

T: Can you tell me something about it?

Ss: Yes.

S1: I sometimes spit in public places.

S2: I sometimes draw on public walls.

S3: I cut down a small tree in my school in Grade One,I feel very sorry now.

S4: We sometimes throw litter on the ground in and out of our classroom.

S5: I often don ' t pick up rubbish in public places.

( 我乘機問全班同學下列問題。 )

T: Will you spit in public places from now on?

Ss: No.

T: Will you draw on public walls any more?

Ss: No.

T: Will you cut down trees in the future?

Ss: No.

T: Will you throw rubbish in public places?

Ss: No. …(這時候,同學們情緒很高漲,他們幾乎是異口同聲地說。)

T: I think we must try our best to make our hometown(our country) the most beautiful one in the world. We should try our best to make the earth greener and more beautiful because there is only one earth! Ok, after class, please have an interview with the other students in Grade 8,ask if they have ever made any pollution, then write a letter to all the students of our school to ask them to protect the environment, the title is Protect the Environment( 課后,請同學們利用課余時間,用英語采訪同年級的別班同學,讓他們在同齡人面前很自然地回憶自己是否有過/有過哪些不文明行為。然后,以此為依據,用英語向全校同學發一份以“保護環境”為內容的倡議書。)

五、教后反思

1.本節課本人充分通過各種手段調動學生的積極性,學生參與面廣,生生互動、師生互動強。學生在合作、討論中,不僅增強小組的榮譽感,更促進了學生們的友誼,努力滲透德育內涵。

2.通過列舉污染源,學生更清楚當前環境的不盡如人意,保護環境刻不容緩,從而使學生增強保護環境的意識。他們動腦筋,想辦法,積極討論保護環境的措施,在不知不覺中提高英語言運用能力。

3. 同學們在快樂中獲得知識,并及時活用,體現了學以致用,體現了“做中學,學中做”的原則,充分體現了任務型的教學原則。

4.充分尊重學生的個體差異,珍視探究過程中學生的獨特感受、體驗和理解,適時引導學生把他們的新想法、新創意引向主動學習、主動發展之中,使學習過程成為一個富有個性化的創新過程,這一點與新課程標準的精神充分吻合。

5.由于本節課容量大,如果班級基礎不夠好,一節課時間不夠。

6.小組活動要有序地組織好,否則難達到最佳效果。
