高考高頻短語剖析（二）

一、get高頻短語

1. get accustomed to 表示“習慣于”。

辨析：get accustomed/ used to和used to，be used to的區別。

get accustomed/ used to doing表示“習慣于做某事”。used to do表示“過去經常做某事”。be used to do表示“被用來做”。例如：

（1）I am accustomed/ used to the weather here.我已經適應了這里的天氣。

（2）I used to get up early， but now I get up late. 我過去習慣早起，不過現在都起得比較晚。

（3）Wood is used to make paper. 木頭被用來造紙。

2. get across表示“（使）通過，（把……）講清楚”。例如：The teacher spoke slowly and tried to get across the difficulties to his students. 老師講得很慢，盡量把難點給學生講清楚。

3. get along表示“成功，前進，進步，相處融洽”。例如：How are you getting along with your work？ 你最近工作進展得怎樣？

4. get down to （doing） sth.表示“開始認真做某事”。例如：The mid-term examination is coming. Its time for us to get down to our studies. 期中考試快到了，是時候開始認真學習了。

5. get in表示“進站，收（莊稼），收起來”。例如：What time does the train from London get in？ 從倫敦來的那列火車什么時間進站？

6. get into表示“進入，陷入，養成（習慣）”。例如：Competition to get into medical school is intense. 進入醫學院的競爭十分激烈。

高考鏈接：（2012江西卷）Ive got into the habit of calling in on my grandparents on my way home from school. 我已經養成了在從學校回家的路上去看一下爺爺奶奶的習慣。

7. get over表示“越過，克服困難，痊愈，恢復”。

辨析：get over和go over的區別。

go over表示“受歡迎，察看，檢查，復習重溫”。例如：

（1）We will find ways to get over the difficulties. 我們會找到克服困難的方法。

（2）We went over several houses， but havent bought one yet. 我們看了幾棟房子，但還沒買。

高考鏈接：（2013江蘇卷）Team leaders must ensure that all members get over their natural desire to avoid the embarrassment associated with making mistakes. 團隊領導者必須確保所有成員都能克服害怕因出錯而尷尬的自然心理。

8. get through表示“通過，渡過，完成，接通（電話），穿過，及格”。

辨析：get through和go through的區別。

go through 表示“經歷，被通過，討論，舉行”。例如：

（1）I have a pile of papers to get through before my leaving. 離開之前，我有一堆文件要完成。

（2）The new law did not go through. 新法案未獲得通過。

高考鏈接：（2010浙江卷）After that， he knew he could get through any emergency by doing what he could to the best of his ability. 在那之后，他知道自己可以盡全力去渡過任何緊急情況。

（2009四川卷）—Have you got through？ 你電話打通了沒？

—No. I had the wrong number. 沒，號碼錯了。

二、make高頻短語

1. be made up of 表示“由……組成，由……構成”。

辨析：be made up of和consist of的區別。

be made up of表示“由……構成/組成”，后面多接與材料有關的詞。consist of常用整體作主語，表示“整體由部分組成”，可引申為“包含有”，多用于抽象事物或是正式的組織，一般不用于進行時態和被動語態。例如：

（1）Our class is made up of thirty boys and twenty girls. 30位男生和20位女生組成了我們的班級。

（2）The health club consists of many old workers from the nearby district. 這個健康俱樂部由很多附近地區的老齡工人組成。

2. make a difference表示“起作用，有關系”。例如：Together，individuals can make a difference. 團結力量大。

3. make ones way 表示“前進、前往，獲得成功，取得進展”。例如：It is still unclear exactly how the images made their way to the web. 目前還不太清楚他們究竟是怎么把照片傳到網上的。

4. make out表示“理解、明白，辨認、看清楚，填寫”。

辨析：make out和pick out的區別。

make out強調“弄清、辨認”，可以表示“認出字跡等”。而pick out強調“挑選、挑出”，如“在人群中認出人”等。例如：

（1）Tamara heard Mama say something in her deep， scratchy old voice but couldnt make out the words. 特瑞沙聽到媽媽用她那低沉、沙啞而蒼老的聲音在說話，但聽不清在說什么。

（2）We must pick out the enemys weakest units for attack. 我們必須找敵人最薄弱的部隊進行攻擊。

5. make sense表示“有意義，講得通”。例如：Sometimes paragraphs need only to be rearranged for the story to make sense. 有時候，只需重新安排段落，便可使故事講得通。

6. make the best of 表示“充分利用”。例如：We should make the best of time in our study. 在學習過程中，我們應該充分利用時間。

高考鏈接：（2011浙江卷）The school isnt the one I really wanted to go to， but I suppose Ill just have to make the best of it. 這個學校并不是我原來最想去的，但我應該充分利用好它。

7. make up表示“化妝、打扮，虛構、編造，組成，彌補，占……比例”。例如：Please make up a situation where you can put the daily expressions. 請編造一個能使用這些日常用語的語言環境。

辨析：make up和dress up的區別。

make up表示“化妝、打扮”時，往往是指臉部化妝，比如上粉底、畫眉等。而dress up表示“盛裝打扮”。例如：

（1）She made up her face to look more beautiful. 為使自己看上去漂亮些，她化了妝。

（2）We dress up for the holiday. 在節日時，我們往往盛裝打扮。

8. make up for表示“補充，補償”。例如：He drove faster to make up for lost time. 他加速駕駛，以彌補損失的時間。

三、set高頻短語

1. set about表示“開始、著手”，后接名詞或動名詞。例如：The girl attendant has set about cleaning the room. 那位女服務員已開始打掃房間。

高考鏈接：（2012浙江卷）Armed with the information you have gathered， you can set about preparing your business plan. 有了收集到的材料，你可以著手準備你的商業計劃了。

2. set out表示“開始做，出發、啟程”，后接動詞不定式。例如：The government has set out to make many needed reforms. 政府開始進行許多必要的改革。

高考鏈接：（2012全國卷II）We set out to paint the whole house but finished only the front part that day. 我們開始粉刷整間房子，但是那天只完成了前面的部分。

3. set aside表示“留出，對……不予考慮”。

高考鏈接：（2013湖北卷）In much of the animal world， night is the time set aside for sleep—pure and simple. 在很多動物的世界里，晚上是留出來作為睡覺時間的，簡單、純粹。

（2012福建卷）You had better set aside some time every day for sports so that you can keep yourself energetic. 你最好每天抽出時間做運動，以使自己保持精力充沛。

4. set down表示“寫下、記下，放下，使（飛機）著陸，讓（乘客）下車，制定、規定”。例如：

（1）The policeman sets down my car number. 警察記下了我的車牌號。

（2）It is necessary to set down these additional rules. 制定這些補充規則是必要的。

5. set up表示“建立，開辦，樹立，造成，產生”。

辨析：set up和establish，found，build的區別。

set up表示“建立、建設、開創”時，是口語用詞，著重表示開始，主要是指建立組織，有時可與establish換用。establish表示“建立、建設”時，主要指建立較大的機構、組織或聯系，有“穩固建成”的意思。found主要用于表示建立或創立機構、組織、理論等。build為最普通用詞，主要是指“修建、建筑（房屋）”，或者“建起（抽象的東西，如習慣等）”。例如：

（1）A new government was set up after the war. 戰后，新政府成立。

（2）She established her fame as an actress. 她成了大名鼎鼎的演員。

（3）His theory is founded on facts. 他的理論建立在事實的基礎上。

（4）The house was built of wood. 這房子是用木頭建造的。

6. set off表示“出發、動身，使爆炸，引發，激起”。例如：

（1）It set off speculation about what led her to leave so abruptly. 這一消息引發了人們對她如此匆忙離開的原因的猜測。

（2）Hearing the news， she set off to the airport at once. 一聽到這個消息，她就馬上去機場了。

Traditionally， college students hold a graduation ceremony to encourage themselves before they set off on their life journey. 按照傳統，大學畢業生會在踏上生活的征程前舉辦一次畢業典禮來鼓勵自己。
