淺析英漢之間親屬稱(chēng)謂的區(qū)別

摘 要： 作為社會(huì)語(yǔ)言學(xué)領(lǐng)域的重要組成部分，親屬稱(chēng)謂能反映人們的思想、心理及社會(huì)文化制度。英漢親屬稱(chēng)謂系統(tǒng)存在巨大差異，文化差異是其主要原因。

一、引言

親屬稱(chēng)謂是說(shuō)話(huà)者在談話(huà)時(shí)用來(lái)指定親屬的，在日常生活中起著重要作用。親屬稱(chēng)謂是一種語(yǔ)言現(xiàn)象，也是一種文化現(xiàn)象。英漢之間不同的親屬稱(chēng)謂顯示了不同的文化和理念，為了人與人之間更好地溝通與交流，區(qū)分兩種語(yǔ)言之間的親屬關(guān)系系統(tǒng)極為必要。由于不同民族、不同語(yǔ)言、不同時(shí)代的社會(huì)文化背景不同，便產(chǎn)生了不同的親屬關(guān)系和制度，其稱(chēng)謂體系也不同。

二、英漢之間親屬稱(chēng)謂的對(duì)比

英語(yǔ)的親屬系統(tǒng)較漢語(yǔ)簡(jiǎn)單，英語(yǔ)中只有少數(shù)的親屬稱(chēng)謂，如father，mother，son，和daughter可以對(duì)等的在漢語(yǔ)里分別表達(dá)為“父親”，“母親”，“兒子”和“女兒”，但漢語(yǔ)的稱(chēng)謂遠(yuǎn)比英語(yǔ)要復(fù)雜得多。然而，不管是何種語(yǔ)言，其親屬系統(tǒng)都根據(jù)性別、年齡、輩分、血緣和婚姻等因素進(jìn)行分類(lèi)。以下顯示了三代以?xún)?nèi)英漢親屬稱(chēng)謂的對(duì)比：

（外）孫子/女（Grandson/granddaughter）：Daughter’s/Son’s son/daughter。

哥哥（姐姐）/弟弟（妹妹）（brother/sister）：Elder/younger brother sister。

伯/叔父（Uncle）：Paternal uncle，F(xiàn)ather’s elder/younger brother。

姑父（Uncle）：Husband of father’s sister。

舅父（Uncle）：Maternal uncle，Mother’s brother。

姨父（Uncle）：Maternal uncle，Husband of mother’s sister。

伯/叔母（aunt）：Paternal aunt，F(xiàn)ather’s elder/younger brother’s wife。

姑母（aunt）：Father’s sister。

舅母（aunt）：Maternal aunt，Mother’s brother’s wife。

姨母（aunt）：Maternal aunt，Mother’s sister。

英漢之間的親屬稱(chēng)謂存在諸多差異，從性別和年齡而言，英語(yǔ)中的“cousin”一詞在漢語(yǔ)中有如“堂哥/弟”，“堂姐/妹”，“表哥/弟”，“表姐/妹”等表示。此外，就血緣和婚姻方面而言，“cousin”在英語(yǔ)中的“兄/弟”和“姐/妹”按不同的標(biāo)簽進(jìn)一步劃分，直系親屬用標(biāo)簽“堂”，旁系親屬用標(biāo)簽“表”。……
